Find Auto spell check and turn it on. Depending on the software presentation, you may instead find spelling controls under Suggest text corrections; enable the relevant spelling-correction option or language.

Samsung says Auto spell check underlines misspelled words in red and suggests likely corrections. Samsung’s UK support guidance, updated 5 June 2026, describes the feature and settings route.
Use Settings if the keyboard gear is unavailable
Open Settings > General management > Samsung Keyboard settings, then look for Auto spell check or the corresponding correction control. Older software may use a different route, such as Language and input > On-screen keyboard > Samsung Keyboard, or place the control under a Predictive text menu. You can also search Settings for “spell check” or “Samsung Keyboard.”

If the keyboard gear is missing, the keyboard toolbar may need to be enabled first. Samsung’s Latin America keyboard guide covers the toolbar and language-specific spell-check controls.

Spell check, predictive text, and auto replace are different
| Control | What it changes | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Auto spell check | Flags misspellings with a red underline and offers likely corrections. | Turn this on to identify spelling errors. |
| Predictive text | Suggests or changes words as you type. | Adjust this separately if you want to change word suggestions. |
| Auto replace | Completes or replaces a word with a likely choice. | Adjust this separately if you want to change automatic replacement. |
For spelling flags, use the Auto spell check or language-specific spelling control; changing predictive text or auto replace is not required. Samsung distinguishes these settings in its support instructions.

Choose the language you want checked
Some Samsung Keyboard versions put language selection under Suggest text corrections; others present languages under Auto spell check. Open the matching spelling-correction setting and enable the desired language. Samsung’s Colombia guidance describes language selection under Suggest text corrections, while its Latin America guidance describes selecting Auto spell check and switching on a language.

Check Samsung Keyboard settings directly. Available screens and options vary by model, software version, and carrier; older operating systems may not expose every control.
