In Windows 11, open Settings > Personalization > Context menu, then change Keep cloud storage actions in their own section under Additional options. Turn it on to keep actions such as OneDrive in a separate section of the modern File Explorer context menu; turn it off to place them under App extensions.
Change the setting in Windows Settings
- Press Win+I to open Settings.
- Select Personalization, then open Context menu.
- Under Additional options, find Keep cloud storage actions in their own section.
- Set the switch to On or Off, then close Settings.
With the switch on, cloud-storage actions appear in their own section when you open the modern context menu in a folder managed by that provider. With it off, the actions appear under App extensions. The cited tutorial identifies On as the default. OneDrive is an example; the setting refers to cloud-storage actions generally.

If the option is missing
This is a Windows 11 File Explorer context-menu preference, but its availability across Windows 11 releases is not established by an official Microsoft source. An ElevenForum tutorial reports the feature in Insider build 26340.9212, labeled Experimental 26H2; WindowsLoop says build 26340.9212 (26H2) or higher. Those are secondary-source reports, not confirmation of general availability. Check your device’s Windows build and feature availability if the setting does not appear. ElevenForum’s tutorial was published August 18, 2026, and WindowsLoop’s how-to was published in September 2026.

Optional: change it in the Registry
A third-party tutorial documents a per-user registry alternative. Prefer Settings when the control is available. Editing the Registry can cause problems if you change the wrong value, so change only the value described here.
