To switch between Noise Cancellation and Transparency on Beats Studio Pro, press the System button twice on the right ear cup. A tone plays when the listening mode changes. The headphones need to be powered on.
Switch modes using the headphone controls
- Power on the headphones. Press and hold the System button on the right ear cup for one second.
- Press the System button twice to switch between Noise Cancellation and Transparency. Listen for the confirmation tone.
The System button is separate from the “b” button, which controls playback and calls. For Apple’s model-specific instructions, see Apple Support: Use your Beats Studio Pro.

Choose a mode from your device
You can also select a listening mode from a connected device. On supported Apple devices, choose your Beats device in the device settings and select a listening mode. On Android, open the Beats app, tap My Beats, then tap the Transparency or Noise Cancellation control. Menu names and screens can vary by software version. - Noise Cancellation (ANC): Reduces surrounding noise. Beats says the headphones continuously monitor ambient noise and create a filter to help reduce it.
- Transparency: Lets environmental sounds mix with your audio so you can remain aware of your surroundings.
- Off: Turns off both listening modes. Off is not enabled by default; enable it in the relevant Beats settings if you want to cycle through Off, Transparency, and Noise Cancellation using the headphone controls.

Battery life with listening modes
Beats states that Studio Pro offers up to 40 hours of listening time with Noise Cancellation or Transparency off, and up to 24 hours with either mode enabled. These are manufacturer-stated maximums; actual battery life varies by use and settings.
