To pause every Blink camera, open the Blink app and tap Disarmed at the bottom of the Home screen. To pause just one camera, turn off its Motion Detection setting. If you only need a timed break from alerts, use Snooze—but understand that Snooze can leave recording active.
Choose the right temporary control

How to turn off all Blink cameras temporarily
- Open the Blink app and go to the Home screen.
- In the system view, tap Disarmed at the bottom.
- Confirm the status change if the app asks.
Disarming the system stops motion-event recording and motion notifications for every camera in that system. It does not delete cameras or remove them from your account.

Turn the system back on
Return to the Home screen and tap Armed. Your cameras resume their normal motion-detection behavior, subject to each camera’s individual settings.

- Find the camera’s thumbnail in the Blink app.
- Tap More, then Motion Detection.
- Switch Motion Detection off.
Depending on the app version, you can also open More > Device Settings > Motion Settings and switch the same control off. That camera will not send motion notifications or record and save motion clips while Motion Detection is off. The setting is per camera and remains off until you re-enable it, even if the overall system is armed.

Re-enable that camera
Open the camera’s Motion Detection control again and switch it on. Check the camera thumbnail for the updated status before leaving the app.
How to pause Blink alerts for a limited time
- On the camera thumbnail, tap More > Snooze.
- Choose a duration: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, or 4 hours.
- Tap Start Snooze.
Blink Plus subscribers and trial users can select Custom Snooze for any period from 1 minute through 24 hours. You can select Apply to all devices when you need the same snooze period on every camera.

Will Blink cameras still record during Snooze?
Possibly. Snooze pauses notifications, not necessarily recording. Blink says recording can continue during Snooze when the account has a Blink Subscription Plan or supported local storage using a Sync Module with a USB drive, or a Sync Module XR with a MicroSD card. Without qualifying storage, do not treat Snooze as a guarantee that clips are being saved—or as a power-off control.

Tap the camera’s solid blue Snooze button and stop the timer. If Snooze was applied to all devices, end it from the corresponding all-device control.

Using schedules, Siri Shortcuts, and automations
A manual arm or disarm works even when a schedule is configured. A manual disarm remains in effect until the next scheduled arming event, so check the schedule if cameras become active again unexpectedly.
Blink’s Siri Shortcuts and Automations support Motion Detection On/Off, Start/Stop Notification Snooze, and System Arm/Disarm for Blink cameras. Before running an automation, verify whether it targets one camera or the whole system and confirm the resulting status in the Blink app.

Which option should you use?
- Choose Disarmed for a complete, system-wide pause of motion recording and notifications.
- Choose Motion Detection Off when one camera needs to stay quiet while the rest continue operating.
- Choose Snooze when you only want notifications paused for a known period and are comfortable with possible recording.
- Use a shortcut or automation for recurring routines, then verify the selected device or system.
