To stop Samsung Music from playing songs randomly, open the full player and tap the shuffle icon until a line appears through it. Samsung identifies the crossed-out icon as shuffle off. You can also choose the next song from the app’s main menu; Samsung says playback then continues in the listed order.
Turn off shuffle in the full player

Start a track in Samsung Music, or open the app while a track is playing.

Tap the track name in the basic playback view to open the full music player.

Tap the shuffle icon. If shuffle was on, tapping it turns random playback off. Check for a line through the icon to confirm the off state. Samsung’s Samsung Music player guide describes this indicator.

Play the next song in listed order
If you would rather start with a particular song, select that song from Samsung Music’s main menu. Samsung says this overrides shuffle and continues through tracks in their listed order. This is useful when you want an album or other list to proceed from a chosen track rather than the current one.
Find the controls when Samsung Music is not open
If the app is running in the background or your phone is locked, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification area and reach the playback controls. Samsung’s guide describes Samsung Music on Samsung mobile devices running Android 5.0 and above. It notes that some file formats may not work on Android 12; that compatibility caveat is separate from the shuffle setting.

Shuffle and repeat are different controls
Shuffle changes whether Samsung Music plays tracks randomly or in listed order. Repeat is a separate control, with modes for no repeat, repeat all, and repeat once. If the crossed-out shuffle icon is showing but playback still repeats, check the repeat control rather than toggling shuffle again.
If you cannot find the shuffle icon

Open the full player by tapping the track name from the basic playback view; the exact icon location can vary by app version or device layout.

Look for the shuffle symbol and use the line through it—not its position on screen—to verify that shuffle is off.

Alternatively, choose the next desired track from the main menu to continue in listed order.
