What changes when you switch it off
These are lightweight security releases that provide additional protection between software updates, including for components such as Safari, the WebKit framework stack, and other system libraries. Turning off Automatically Install stops automatic delivery; it does not remove an improvement already applied. Apple says the device will not receive the improvements until they are included in a subsequent software update. Apple’s support article explains the delivery behavior.
