To stop word suggestions on Samsung Keyboard, open Settings > General management > Samsung Keyboard settings and turn off Predictive text. You can also switch it off from Samsung Keyboard’s Settings icon while typing.
Turn off Predictive text in Settings
- Open Settings.
- Tap General management.
- Tap Samsung Keyboard settings.
- Turn off Predictive text.
Samsung documents this route for Galaxy phones. Menu names and available options can vary by model and software version. Samsung’s instructions for the Predictive text setting and its Caribbean support page, last updated June 11, 2026, describe the feature and controls.

- Tap the keyboard’s Settings icon.
- Turn off Predictive text.
If you want to stop automatic replacement, not suggestions
Predictive text suggests or corrects words as you type. If you want suggestions to remain visible but do not want the keyboard to automatically replace a word, look for a separate Auto replace control in Samsung Keyboard settings. The precise location is not established for every Galaxy model or software version, so the label and availability may differ.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteSpecial offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
If you cannot find the setting
- Search Settings for “Samsung Keyboard,” or open the keyboard while typing and use its Settings icon.
- These instructions apply to Samsung Keyboard. If your phone uses another keyboard app, its settings may be different.
Manage a particular suggestion or text shortcut
If you only want to remove one unwanted displayed suggestion, Samsung says to touch and hold that suggestion. Samsung also documents managing custom Text shortcuts separately; those shortcuts appear in the predictive-text bar. Turning Predictive text off is not documented as deleting saved shortcuts or learned words. See Samsung’s support guidance for the related controls.
