To turn off Phone Link notifications on a Windows 11 PC, open Phone Link > Settings > Features > Notifications and switch notifications off. If you want to stop only pop-up banners, or silence one phone app rather than everything, use the more targeted options below.
Turn off all Phone Link notifications
- Open Phone Link on your Windows 11 PC.
- Select the Settings gear.
- Choose Features, then Notifications.
- Switch notifications off.
This is the app-specific control for Phone Link’s notification feature. Microsoft notes that turning off a Phone Link feature stops syncing its related content until you turn the feature back on. If you want to keep using other Phone Link features, avoid disabling those or unlinking your phone. Microsoft’s Phone Link notification instructions explain the notification controls.
Turn off Phone Link notifications in Windows Settings
- Open Start > Settings > System > Notifications.
- Find Phone Link under notifications from apps and other senders.
- Switch Phone Link notifications off.
This Windows-level control disables notifications from Phone Link. Windows also lets you configure an app’s banners, Notification Center display, and sound separately. For example, if the aim is to stop Phone Link pop-ups, leave its notifications enabled and switch off Show notification banners; you can retain Notification Center alerts if that option remains enabled. See Microsoft’s Windows notification settings guide for the available controls.
Silence notifications from just one phone app
If you still want most phone alerts on your PC, change the setting for the specific app instead of disabling Phone Link’s whole notification feed. In Phone Link’s notification feed, open the menu for a notification from that app or service and choose one of the available options:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

- Mute: pause alerts from that app or service for a selected period.
- Turn off notifications from phone: stop notifications from that phone app or service from appearing through Phone Link.
You can restore muted or disabled app notifications in Phone Link Settings. The available controls are described in Microsoft’s guide to viewing and managing mobile notifications on a PC.
Which setting should you choose?
| What you want | Setting to use | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Stop the Phone Link notification feed | Phone Link > Settings > Features > Notifications | Turns off the Phone Link notification feature; related content stops syncing until the feature is re-enabled. |
| Block all Windows alerts from Phone Link | Windows Settings > System > Notifications > Phone Link | Disables Phone Link notifications through Windows. |
| Stop pop-ups but keep other alert access | Phone Link’s Windows notification options | Turns off banners while allowing Notification Center display if that option is on. |
| Silence only one phone app | That app’s menu in the Phone Link notification feed | Mutes it for a chosen period or turns off alerts from that source. |
When phone notifications are missing rather than unwanted
Notification setup differs between Android and iPhone. Android requires notification access for Link to Windows. On iPhone, notification sharing depends on the paired PC’s Bluetooth settings and the Share System Notifications control. These settings govern whether alerts can sync to the PC; they are not the controls for turning off Phone Link alerts on Windows. Microsoft’s Phone Link requirements and setup guide covers platform setup.

Some missing Android alerts are an intentional privacy restriction. Microsoft says Android 15 can hide notifications identified as sensitive in Phone Link, including some two-factor authentication codes and one-time passcodes. Check the phone itself for that content; switching off PC notifications does not change this restriction. See Microsoft’s Phone Link notification troubleshooting guide.
