To stop a Samsung Galaxy from alerting you when mobile data reaches a threshold, open Settings > Connections > Data usage > Billing cycle and data warning and turn off Set data warning. This disables the warning notification; it does not change the separate setting that can switch mobile data off.
Turn off the data warning
-
Open Settings.
-
Tap Connections, then Data usage.
-
Open Billing cycle and data warning.
-
Switch off Set data warning.
Samsung describes this switch as the control for turning the data warning feature on or off. The warning is a notification tied to a usage threshold; turning it off stops that alert. See Samsung’s US instructions for managing Galaxy data usage.

Data warning and data limit are different settings
| Setting | What it does | What to change |
|---|---|---|
| Set data warning | Shows a notification when usage reaches the selected threshold. | Turn it off to stop the warning. |
| Set data limit | Can automatically turn mobile data off when usage reaches the configured amount. | Leave it as configured if you only want to stop alerts. If mobile data stops working, check this setting separately. |
The controls are separate in Samsung’s guidance: disabling the warning does not itself disable the data limit. Samsung UK explains the limit’s automatic mobile-data shutoff in its Galaxy data-usage instructions; Samsung US also documents switching the limit on or off and setting its threshold.
If “Billing cycle and data warning” is missing
The exact menu can differ by Galaxy model, software version, carrier, and country. Samsung notes that this menu may not appear when the phone has no active SIM, no mobile network connection, or is connected only to Wi-Fi. Check that a SIM is active and the phone has a mobile-network connection, then look under Settings > Connections > Data usage for a similarly named warning control.
