Minecraft Dungeons II launched on Nintendo Switch on September 29, 2026, according to Minecraft’s launch announcement. However, the official sources cited here do not identify a Switch-specific cause for crashes or verify that a particular troubleshooting step fixes them. Nintendo’s instructions below apply to Switch software crashes generally.

How to troubleshoot the crash, step by step
After each step, start the game and return to the part where the error appeared to see whether it happens again. Nintendo recommends verifying the result after each action rather than assuming the problem is solved.

Restart the Switch
Hold the console’s POWER button for three seconds, choose Power Options, then select Restart. If the console is unresponsive, hold POWER for 12 seconds to force it to shut down, then turn it on again.

Install any system update
Open System Settings → System → System Update and follow the prompts if an update is available.

Check for a game update
Connect the Switch to the internet. On the HOME Menu, highlight Minecraft Dungeons II without opening it, press + or −, then choose Software Update → Via the Internet.

Check for corrupt game data
Open System Settings → Data Management → Manage Software → Minecraft Dungeons II → Check for Corrupt Data. Follow the on-screen instructions if the console reports a problem.

Delete and redownload the game if needed
If the crash continues, delete the software and download it again to the console’s system memory. Nintendo’s instructions say to remove the microSD card before redownloading. This is a diagnostic step, not a reason to buy a card.

If the error recurs after these steps, contact Nintendo Support for further help.

What to do if the crash keeps happening
Note when the game closes—for example, while launching or after returning to the point where the error appeared—and which steps you tried. This gives Nintendo Support useful troubleshooting context. If you share your experience with other players, describe it as an individual report rather than evidence of an official cause or guaranteed fix.
