If Super Volley Blast keeps crashing on your Steam Deck, start with Steam’s general instability steps: install available SteamOS updates, restart the Deck, and close third-party applications installed through Desktop Mode. If the crash happens only in this game, check its compatibility details and try the latest Proton version in the game’s Compatibility settings. These are troubleshooting checks, not a confirmed game-specific cure; the available information does not identify the cause of an individual crash.
Why might Super Volley Blast crash on Steam Deck?
There is no established cause for a particular player’s crash, and the available evidence does not show that the game currently has a widespread Steam Deck problem. SteamDB lists the game as Deck Verified and records a compatibility test timestamp of April 23, 2022. That is a useful indication that the game passed checks at that time, not a guarantee about your Deck’s current software, installation, or game build.

Valve’s compatibility program checks input, display, seamlessness, and system support, including Proton compatibility where applicable. Valve says ratings for tested games apply to LCD and OLED Deck models, and that its review process is ongoing. A Verified rating therefore does not rule out a crash on a particular device.
Steam lists Super Volley Blast as a game developed and published by Unfinished Pixel, released November 1, 2018. The store describes story mode, custom matches, tournaments, and up to four simultaneous players. Its Windows minimum requirements include DirectX 10-capable graphics and 600 MB of storage; these are not Deck-specific diagnostics.

How to stop Super Volley Blast from crashing
Work through these steps in order. If other Steam apps or the Deck itself are also unstable, begin with system-level checks. If only this game crashes, proceed to its compatibility and Proton settings.
1. Install updates and restart the Deck
- Open Steam > Settings > System > Software Updates and install any available updates.
- Restart using Steam > Power > Restart.
Steam recommends updating and restarting as first steps for system instability. See Steam’s Steam Deck troubleshooting guidance.

2. Close third-party applications
If instability continues, exit or disable third-party applications you installed through Desktop Mode, then restart the Deck. Steam recommends this for instability in Steam applications. This is most relevant when more than one Steam app is affected; it does not establish that a third-party app caused this game’s crash.

3. Review the game’s compatibility details
Open the game in your Library or on its Steam store page and review its compatibility status and details. Treat the Verified badge as context, not as a diagnosis or guarantee that your current setup cannot crash.

4. Try the latest Proton version for this game
- In the Library, highlight Super Volley Blast and open its menu.
- Choose Properties > Compatibility.
- Enable Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool.
- Select the latest Proton version available and test the game.
Valve describes Proton as a compatibility layer that lets Windows games run on Linux. Changing this setting is a troubleshooting check, not a guaranteed fix. Steam notes that selecting Proton may cause it to download the Windows version if only the Linux version is installed. Avoid cycling through arbitrary Proton builds on the assumption that one will fix the crash.
5. Lower graphics settings only for performance instability
If the issue is poor performance or instability under load, try a lower graphics preset or reduce individual graphics settings. Steam offers this as performance guidance; there is no evidence that changing graphics settings fixes crashes in this specific game.

- Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
6. Contact Steam Support if the crash persists
If the steps do not resolve the issue, contact Steam Support. In your report, describe whether the crash occurs at launch, during a match, or after a particular action, and note any recent SteamOS or game changes. Those details can help explain what you observed, though Steam does not prescribe them as required diagnostics.

Steam Deck Verified status reflects compatibility checks, not a promise that every installation and software state will be crash-free. The SteamDB entry’s test date is April 23, 2022; it does not establish the cause of a current crash. Likewise, the game’s Windows minimum requirements should not be used as a Deck troubleshooting checklist.
The practical distinction is whether the instability affects the whole Deck or just this game: Steam’s update, restart, and third-party-app guidance addresses broader instability, while checking this title’s compatibility information and trying Proton are game-level checks. Neither branch identifies a confirmed Super Volley Blast-specific fault.
