The extension route lets you wait for the page content in your own tab before taking the screenshot; if URL capture keeps failing, use a browser screenshot and add that image to the editor. Screenshot.Rocks’ official pages do not specify a timeout code, threshold, or adjustable timeout setting.
First, identify which Screenshot.Rocks capture route failed
Screenshot.Rocks documents two ways to get a website screenshot into its editor. They behave differently, so the right next step depends on where the timeout happened.

The URL route sends the address to Screenshot.Rocks’ server. The extension route captures from the tab you have open; it is not documented as a remote renderer that waits for a slow target site. See the Screenshot.Rocks mockup-generator page and its extension instructions.
If the browser extension capture is failing
- Open the target page in the browser tab. The extension acts on the current tab, so make sure the intended website is open there.
- Wait for the content you need to appear. If the page is still loading or the relevant section has not rendered, wait in the tab before clicking the Screenshot.Rocks button.
- Click the extension button and edit the resulting screenshot. The documented extension workflow captures the visible part of the current tab, rather than waiting remotely for the whole site to finish loading.
If the desired content never appears in the tab, the extension cannot capture content that has not rendered. That alone does not establish whether the problem is the website, browser, connection, or another cause.

For a full-page image, use the browser’s full-page capture
The extension is documented as capturing only the visible part of the tab. For a full-length screenshot, Screenshot.Rocks directs users to use their browser’s full-page capture feature, then add the resulting image to the editor.
- Open the page and wait until the content you want is available.
- Use the browser’s full-page screenshot feature. The exact control depends on your browser; Screenshot.Rocks’ extension page does not give a universal menu path.
- Save the screenshot, then add or drop the image into the Screenshot.Rocks editor.
If URL-based website capture keeps timing out
Confirm that you are using Screenshot.Rocks’ website-capture feature and that the address is the one you intend to capture. If it still fails, switch routes: open the page yourself, capture it with the browser, and add the image to the editor. This is a practical workaround, not a diagnosis of whether the cause was the target website, your connection, or Screenshot.Rocks’ capture service.

Screenshot.Rocks says images added to the editor are processed in the browser. Its mockup-generator page says: “Only the optional website capture and the browser extension send a web address or a screenshot to our server, and neither is stored.”
What Screenshot.Rocks documents—and what it does not
The official pages reviewed describe URL-based website capture, the browser extension, and the browser full-page workaround. They do not specify a timeout error message or code, a maximum wait, a user-adjustable timeout, a retry policy, or a timeout-specific diagnostic procedure. Do not assume that settings or timeout recipes from another screenshot service apply to Screenshot.Rocks.
