If your Google Pixel Pro is acting up, start with the symptom: check the relevant setting or accessory, restart the phone, and change one thing at a time. Exact menus and diagnostic features vary by Pixel generation and region, so check your model and Android version before following model-specific steps. Google Pixel Help reviewed in October 2026 is the source for the guidance below; it is not a substitute for a device-specific diagnosis.
Start with the right checks for your Pixel
Note when the problem began and whether it affects one app or the whole phone. If the issue began after setup, a software update, a new accessory, or a change in signal, that timing can help narrow the cause. Restart first when practical, then test one change at a time so you can tell what helped.
On Pixel 6 and later, including Fold, Google lists a Device health & support area with device and feature status, warranty information, support, and repair options. Most diagnostics are also listed for Pixel 6 and later. Touch diagnostics are listed for Pixel 9 and later; calls, mobile data, and Wi-Fi diagnostics are listed for Pixel 11 series in the US. Pixel Help question answering is listed for Pixel 9 and later in English, German, and Japanese. Availability can change; check Google’s current Device health & support information for your model and region.
Why is my Pixel battery draining so fast?
Find out whether an app is using power
- Open Settings > Battery > Battery usage.
- Review the list for an app using an unusual share of power, especially in the background.
- If appropriate, restrict background use for that app, then observe whether battery life improves.
- On Pixel 6 and later, run Battery diagnostics if the option is available on your device.
Google says battery optimization after initial setup or a factory reset can take a few weeks. Some additional drain after a software update is expected while the phone optimizes; if unusual drain continues after a few days, seek support. These timeframes are guidance, not proof that persistent drain is harmless. See Google’s battery-drain troubleshooting steps.

When the checks do not explain it
Compare usage over time rather than drawing conclusions from one short period. A single app’s prominence does not establish that it is faulty, and battery symptoms alone do not establish that the battery needs replacement. Use the diagnostics or support options available for your exact model if the drain remains unexplained.
Why won’t my Pixel charge or turn on?
Check power, cable, adapter, and port
- Press and hold the Power button for 5–7 seconds.
- Test the wall outlet with another device and check that both ends of the charging cable and adapter are firmly connected.
- Try a known-good cable and adapter. Google’s general guidance is a 30 W USB-C PPS adapter or a USB Power Delivery adapter rated at 15 W or more; charging speed varies by Pixel model.
- Remove the case and visually inspect the USB-C port for lint or debris. Do not insert anything into the port.
- If the phone has been unused for a long time and its battery is fully drained, leave it plugged in: Google says it may take up to 25 minutes to show an icon, vibration, or other response.
A compatible USB-C PD charger or 30 W PPS charger can be useful for testing, but it cannot fix a damaged port or battery. Confirm compatibility for your exact Pixel Pro before buying one. Follow Google’s charging instructions.

If the phone reports liquid or debris
Unplug the cable, let the phone cool and dry, and follow Google’s instructions for the specific alert. Do not try to clean the port with a tool. See Google’s guidance for liquid or debris in the USB-C port.
If it still will not turn on
After the basic charge checks, Google recommends checking whether the phone rings after a forced reboot. If it rings while the screen remains blank, the display may be the problem rather than the phone being fully off. A manual reset erases device data, so back up what you can before resetting. If there is still no response, contact Google support or arrange repair through an available service option.

Why is wireless charging slow or intermittent?
- Let the phone cool if it feels hot, and temporarily remove the case and any magnetic or metallic attachment.
- Place the phone carefully on the charger and keep the screen off while testing.
- Restart the phone after it has cooled. Background apps and weak cellular or Wi-Fi coverage can also use power while charging.
- Check that the wireless charger is compatible with your exact Pixel Pro generation. Google notes that some recent Pixel models do not work with older Pixel Stand generations.
Charging that slows above 80% may be Adaptive Charging behavior rather than a fault. Model and charger compatibility differ, so consult Google’s charging and wireless charging guidance before treating a pad as defective.
Why is my Pixel camera not working?
Try app-level fixes first
- Restart the phone and reopen the Camera app.
- Clear the Camera app cache, then test again.
- Close other apps that may be using the camera.
- If the phone is hot, let it cool before retesting.
- Remove a case that could obstruct the lens, then gently wipe the rear glass and lenses with a clean, soft cloth.
Google says a slight rattle from the camera can be normal because some camera components move to focus. If multiple camera apps fail when trying to access the camera, hardware may be at fault and repair may be needed. See Google’s camera troubleshooting guide.

Why won’t my Pixel connect to Wi-Fi or get online?
- Confirm Wi-Fi is on and Airplane mode is off. Toggle the relevant setting if needed, then restart the phone.
- Try another device on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Try connecting the Pixel to a different Wi-Fi network.
- If other devices also fail on the original network, investigate the router or internet service.
- If the Pixel works on another network, the original network is the likely source of the problem.
- If the Pixel connects to Wi-Fi but cannot reach the internet, the network’s internet connection may be down even though the wireless connection is active.
This comparison helps locate the fault before you consider broader changes such as resetting network settings. For further steps, use Google’s Wi-Fi troubleshooting instructions.

Video calls, recording with the camera, hotspot use, and charging can all make a phone warmer. Move it out of direct sunlight and stop demanding tasks until it cools. Do not put it in a refrigerator or expose it to a rapid temperature change.

Google says an overheated Pixel may reduce CPU performance, charging speed, camera flash or operation, mobile data, or Wi-Fi. If it shuts down, let it cool before restarting. Repeated shutdowns warrant contacting Pixel support. See Google’s guidance on a hot Pixel phone.
What should I do about display flicker, lines, green tint, or a blank screen?
For flicker, a green tint, or lines, check for a system update. If the display problem remains, Google advises contacting support or arranging repair. Cracks and dead pixels are repair issues rather than problems an app setting can resolve.
If the display will not turn on, first check charging and follow Google’s button-based troubleshooting. If the phone rings but the display stays blank, a screen fault is possible. Use Google’s display troubleshooting guidance and the charging checks above. Back up data before any reset that could erase it.
When to contact support or arrange repair
Use the support or repair options shown for your device when basic checks fail, several camera apps cannot access the camera, display damage persists, charging remains unresponsive, or the phone repeatedly shuts down from heat. Repair availability and warranty coverage vary by region and device; check Google’s Device health & support information for current options. Avoid a factory reset until you have considered data backup and less disruptive troubleshooting.
