To continue The Crew Motorfest on Nintendo Switch 2, install the Switch 2 edition and sign in with the same Ubisoft Account that holds your existing Motorfest progress. The game synchronizes supported progress through Ubisoft’s automatic cross-progression and cross-save systems; there is no published save-file export or Nintendo console-transfer procedure.
The Switch 2 edition launched on October 8, 2026, in physical retail and through Nintendo eShop. A persistent internet connection is required to play, and store purchases made on another platform do not automatically move to Switch 2.

What “transfer” means in Motorfest
Motorfest treats progression as an account-linked service rather than as a save file that you copy between consoles. Ubisoft Help says that “The Crew Motorfest supports automatic cross-progression between all platforms,” while Ubisoft’s Switch 2 FAQ confirms that the Switch 2 version supports both cross-progression and cross-save. Your progression is therefore retrieved after the Switch 2 game connects to the Ubisoft Account used on the original platform.
This is different from Nintendo’s system-transfer process. Ubisoft has not published a manual export/import sequence for Motorfest saves, and the official guidance does not describe copying a save to a microSD card, transferring it between Nintendo consoles, or uploading a file yourself. Treat the move as account-based synchronization: obtain the Switch 2 version, connect the console to the internet, and authenticate with the correct Ubisoft Account.

“All platforms” in Ubisoft Help refers to platforms supported by Motorfest’s cross-progression service. The Switch 2 FAQ specifically includes Switch 2 among those supported platforms, so a player moving from a supported PlayStation, Xbox, PC, or other Motorfest platform can continue on Switch 2 when the same account is used.
What you need before starting
- The Switch 2 edition of Motorfest. Ubisoft announced physical-retail and Nintendo eShop availability beginning October 8, 2026. You cannot sync into a game edition you have not installed or cannot access.
- The original Ubisoft Account. This must be the account associated with the Motorfest progress you want to continue. A different Ubisoft Account is treated as a different identity.
- Internet access. Ubisoft states that a persistent internet connection is required to play the Switch 2 version. Connect Switch 2 before launching the game and keep it online while the account data is retrieved.
- A Ubisoft Account sign-in. Ubisoft lists an account as a requirement for the Switch 2 version. Have the account credentials available rather than creating a new account during setup.
Make sure you know which Ubisoft Account your old platform used before opening Motorfest on Switch 2. If several people use the same console, confirm the account tied to the existing Motorfest profile instead of assuming that the Nintendo user profile is the deciding account.
Step-by-step: continue your progress on Switch 2
- Get the Switch 2 game. Buy or otherwise obtain The Crew Motorfest for Nintendo Switch 2 in physical retail or from Nintendo eShop, then install any required game update.
- Put Switch 2 online. Connect to a reliable internet connection before starting Motorfest. Persistent connectivity is part of the Switch 2 version’s requirements, not an optional setup step.
- Launch Motorfest. Start the Switch 2 edition from the Nintendo home screen and proceed to the Ubisoft Account sign-in screen.
- Use the same Ubisoft Account as before. Sign in with the account that was associated with your existing Motorfest progression on the original platform. Do not substitute a new Ubisoft Account or an account belonging to another player.
- Let cross-progression and cross-save work automatically. Ubisoft’s published instructions do not include a separate “export,” “import,” or “download save” command. Once the game authenticates the correct account and reaches Ubisoft’s online services, the supported progression is made available through the automatic system.
- Enter the game and check your profile. Confirm that your expected progression is present before spending time configuring a new profile. If the game appears to start from the beginning, stop and verify the account and connection rather than creating new progress on the wrong account.
There is no additional Nintendo system-transfer step in Ubisoft’s guidance. You do not need to move the old console’s local save to Switch 2 for Motorfest cross-progression.

What carries over—and what does not
The important distinction is between progression stored through Motorfest’s cross-progression service and entitlements purchased through a platform storefront. Ubisoft confirms the former for Switch 2 but explicitly limits the latter.
| Item | Switch 2 treatment | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Motorfest progression | Supported through cross-progression and cross-save across supported platforms. | Sign in with the Ubisoft Account that owns the existing progression and allow the automatic sync. |
| Ubisoft Account identity | Required; the account links the progression across platforms. | Use the same account used on the original platform. |
| Purchases made through another platform’s store | Do not transfer automatically to Switch 2. | Check which content you need and be prepared to acquire relevant items again for Switch 2. |
| The Crew 2 Collection Import | Not available in the Switch 2 edition. | Do not expect the separate The Crew 2 collection-import feature to appear on Switch 2. |
| Online access | A persistent internet connection is required to play. | Keep Switch 2 connected while launching and playing. |
Progression is not the same as a purchase entitlement
Ubisoft’s Switch 2 FAQ says that content purchased through another platform’s store does not transfer. The examples named by Ubisoft are Xbox, PlayStation, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, and Steam. Consequently, a player can see the Motorfest progression associated with the Ubisoft Account while still finding that a paid add-on or other store entitlement from the old platform is unavailable on Switch 2. The relevant content may need to be purchased again through a Switch 2-compatible Nintendo store listing.
Do not interpret a missing paid item as proof that the save synchronization failed. First check whether the missing item is a platform-store purchase; Ubisoft’s policy treats that category separately from progression.

The Crew 2 Collection Import is a separate feature
Collection Import from The Crew 2 is not the same as Motorfest cross-progression. Ubisoft’s Switch 2 FAQ states that Collection Import is not available in the Switch 2 edition. A Motorfest player therefore cannot use the Switch 2 version to import a The Crew 2 collection through that feature, even though the player can use Motorfest’s account-based progression system.

Check the account before troubleshooting the save
The most consequential mistake is authenticating a different Ubisoft Account from the one used on the original platform. Cross-progression follows the Ubisoft identity, not simply the Nintendo user profile, game card, or console. If your expected progression is absent, work through these checks in order:

- Stop creating new progress. Leave the game at the profile or opening screen until you establish that the account is correct.
- Identify the original account. Recall which Ubisoft Account was linked when you first played Motorfest. If more than one email address has been used, compare the account you are signing into with the one associated with the old platform.
- Check the Switch 2 sign-in. Close Motorfest and restart the sign-in flow using the original Ubisoft Account. The exact on-screen wording can vary by release, but the requirement is the same: the authenticated account must match.
- Reconnect to the internet. Because the Switch 2 version requires persistent connectivity, an offline launch or interrupted connection can prevent the online profile from loading.
- Launch again and wait for the online profile. Automatic cross-progression does not provide a manual save-selection menu. Allow the game to finish its connection process before deciding that the progression is missing.
If you still cannot access the expected progression after confirming the account and connection, use Ubisoft Support for an account-specific investigation. Avoid unlinking accounts or deleting local data as a first response; the official cross-progression instructions do not require either action.

Moving from PlayStation, Xbox, or PC
Start the Switch 2 edition, connect it to the internet, and authenticate the same Ubisoft Account used for Motorfest on the previous platform. Supported progression should be supplied by the automatic cross-progression service. Purchases made through the previous platform’s store remain subject to Ubisoft’s non-transfer rule.
Using a physical Switch 2 copy
A physical copy gives you access to the Switch 2 edition, but the cartridge itself is not the mechanism that carries your Motorfest profile. The profile is associated with the Ubisoft Account and retrieved online. Connect the console and complete the Ubisoft sign-in even when the game is launched from a cartridge.

Buying the digital Nintendo eShop edition
The eShop version is another way to obtain the Switch 2 edition announced by Ubisoft. Digital ownership of the Switch 2 game does not merge Ubisoft Accounts. Sign in with the account holding the old Motorfest progression after installation.
Expecting old platform add-ons to appear
Separate progression from purchases when checking the result. Ubisoft specifically says that content bought through Xbox, PlayStation, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, or Steam does not transfer to Switch 2. A successful progression sync can therefore coexist with missing paid content.
Looking for The Crew 2 collection data
Do not search the Switch 2 menus for Collection Import from The Crew 2. Ubisoft says that feature is unavailable in the Switch 2 edition, independently of Motorfest’s cross-save support.
How to tell whether the move worked
- The game accepts the Ubisoft Account you used for Motorfest previously.
- Your existing Motorfest progression appears after the online connection completes.
- You can resume from the expected profile rather than an unrelated new-game state.
- You understand that paid content from another storefront may be absent even when progression is present.
- You are not expecting The Crew 2 Collection Import, which Ubisoft excludes from the Switch 2 edition.
These checks distinguish an account or connection problem from an entitlement limitation. If the profile is correct but a store-purchased item is unavailable, consult the Switch 2 storefront rather than attempting to transfer a save file.
Official information
Ubisoft’s Cross-progression in The Crew Motorfest help article states that Motorfest supports automatic cross-progression between platforms. Ubisoft’s Switch 2 announcement and FAQ confirms cross-progression, cross-save, the account requirement, and the limits on store purchases. The Spanish-language Switch 2 FAQ provides the 1080p/30 FPS figures and notes that persistent internet access is required, while Ubisoft’s July 8, 2026 availability announcement records the October 8 launch in physical retail and Nintendo eShop.
