You can move eligible Microsoft 365 subscriptions to Ingram Micro as your new Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) through Microsoft Partner Center. Ingram Micro initiates the transfer, but your current CSP partner must select and approve the subscriptions. This process transfers subscription billing ownership; it does not, by itself, move your Microsoft 365 tenant, mailboxes, files, or identities.
What moves—and what does not
Microsoft’s CSP transfer process changes which partner transacts and bills for eligible subscriptions. It is not a tenant-to-tenant migration. The Microsoft documentation for transferring billing ownership between partners and transferring new commerce license-based subscriptions describes subscription transfer, not the movement of tenant data. If you intend to move mailboxes, files, identities, or the tenant itself, that is a separate project.

First identify your subscription type
The steps depend on whether your licenses are new commerce (NCE) subscriptions or legacy Office 365 subscriptions. Check the subscription offer and type with your current partner and Ingram Micro before starting; do not assume the NCE transfer workflow applies to legacy subscriptions.
New commerce subscriptions
Eligible NCE license-based subscriptions can use Microsoft’s Partner Center transfer workflow. The subscription is recreated under the target partner with a new subscription ID. Microsoft says properties such as user counts and renewal settings are preserved. The transfer changes billing responsibility between partners; it does not mean the customer receives a new tenant.

Legacy Office 365 subscriptions
Legacy subscriptions may need to be recreated under the new partner account after the customer agreement is completed. Microsoft’s direct-bill to indirect reseller transition guidance describes this legacy path. Ask both partners to confirm the account-specific procedure before making changes.
What the customer and partners need to do
- Inventory the subscriptions. With your current partner and Ingram Micro, list the offers, license counts, terms, renewal settings, and current CSP relationship. Confirm which subscriptions are included and whether each is NCE or legacy.
- Agree on the commercial handoff. Confirm the subscriptions to transfer and how billing will work before the request is submitted. For NCE transfers, the source partner is financially responsible through the transfer point; the target partner is responsible for the remainder of the term. Microsoft advises partners to coordinate expectations and subscription details.
- Establish the Ingram Micro relationship and customer agreement. The customer must establish a relationship with Ingram Micro and complete the applicable Microsoft customer agreement. The target partner also needs its Microsoft Partner Agreement in place.
- Have Ingram Micro initiate the eligible NCE request. As the target partner, Ingram Micro creates the Partner Center transfer request. The request requires the source partner’s Microsoft tenant ID and a customer email address for notifications.
- Have the current CSP review and submit it. The source partner reviews the request, selects the subscriptions to transfer, and submits them. Microsoft states that “Microsoft will not override a CSP subscription transfer without the source partner’s approval” in its Partner Center transfer guidance.
- Track completion and reconcile billing. Follow the request in Partner Center and confirm the resulting subscriptions and billing arrangements with both partners. Microsoft’s documentation says an unanswered request expires after 30 days and a submitted transfer may take up to 72 hours; these are process timings, not guaranteed service levels, and the live guidance should be checked.
If the current partner will not approve
The documented CSP transfer requires source-partner approval. Microsoft does not describe an override that forces the transfer through without it. If your current partner will not approve, ask Ingram Micro whether another route is available for your subscription type and country. Do not treat a new subscription purchase or a tenant migration as an automatic substitute for an approved billing transfer.

Confirm Ingram Micro availability in your country
Ingram Micro’s regional pages describe partner transition assistance, licensing setup, and marketplace access. Its Microsoft CSP transition page for the UK and Seamless Move terms for Mexico illustrate that offerings are regional. Confirm with the relevant Ingram Micro entity whether it supports your country, subscription type, and requested transition; these pages do not establish universal availability or a single procedure for every market.
