Before you transfer a save
First identify the source and destination platforms, then check whether the particular game edition supports a transfer between them. The official platform pages establish separate services; they do not establish a Metro Redux account or service that carries progress across platforms. The platform catalog lists Metro Redux versions but is not a save-transfer guide. PLAION’s Metro games page lists supported platforms.

- Keep the old device and its save intact until you have confirmed the save loads on the destination.
- Use the same platform account where the platform’s instructions require it.
- Do not launch the game or select a conflicting save until cloud synchronization or the console transfer has finished.

Steam PC to another PC
Steam’s support listing marks Metro 2033 Redux as supporting Steam Cloud. Verify the listing for the exact title and edition you own; do not assume the same support applies to every store or edition. - Before switching devices, confirm Steam shows synchronization as complete. Keep a separate copy of any accessible save as a precaution.
- On the new PC, sign into the same Steam account and wait for Steam Cloud to finish synchronizing before launching the game.
- If Steam reports a conflict, review the available copies carefully and choose the one you intend to keep. Do not overwrite a known-good save until you have made a backup.
Steam warns that conflicts can occur when files change on multiple devices without syncing, and says support generally cannot recover lost saves or resolve cloud conflicts. Cloud support is a synchronization feature, not a recovery guarantee.

Epic Games Store PC to another PC
Epic Cloud Saves work only for games that support them. The general Epic help page does not confirm that a particular Metro Redux listing supports cloud saves, so check your own game listing before relying on this method.
- In the Epic Games Launcher, open Library and use the Cloud Saves feature filter to check whether the title is marked as supported.
- Alternatively, inspect the game’s Store page feature tags for Cloud Saves.
- If the title is marked as supported, sign into the same Epic account on the new PC and allow any cloud synchronization to finish before launching.
Epic’s instructions for checking a title are at How to check if a game supports cloud saves. If Metro Redux is not shown as supported for your account and edition, this evidence does not establish an automatic Epic-to-Epic transfer route.

Nintendo Switch to a replacement Switch
Nintendo documents both transferring a user and save data between Switch consoles and transferring an individual game save. Its UK Metro Redux listing identifies Save Data Cloud as a feature. These are Nintendo-account and console mechanisms, not cross-platform save conversion. Review Nintendo’s current steps before starting: some transfers can remove the associated user and save data from the original console. - Choose the transfer route that fits your situation: transfer a user and its save data, transfer an individual save, or restore a supported cloud backup.
- Check that the destination console has the correct Nintendo Account and user before proceeding. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to restore saves backed up through Save Data Cloud.
- Follow the current on-screen Nintendo instructions and verify that the Metro Redux save appears on the destination before deleting or resetting anything on the old console.
PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5
Sony documents transferring saved data for games playable on PS5 from a source PS4 or PS5. For a PS4 game save, Sony also describes copying it to USB and then copying it to the destination PS5; PS5 save data cannot be copied to USB. PlayStation Plus cloud downloads are another route described by Sony. These procedures cover Sony consoles, not importing a PlayStation save to PC, Xbox or Switch. Follow Sony’s PS4/PS5 transfer instructions for the current steps and eligibility.

- Use the console-to-console transfer for supported game saves when moving between systems.
- For a PS4 save, Sony’s documented USB route is an alternative; do not treat USB as a route for copying PS5 save data.
- If using PlayStation Plus cloud storage, download the relevant save to the destination console before starting the game.
Xbox, cross-platform transfers and manual PC copying
The available official information does not establish a Metro Redux-specific Xbox-to-new-Xbox procedure, an Xbox-to-PC save transfer, or compatibility between saves from different PC storefronts. A platform listing confirms availability, not that its save files can be migrated to another system. Check the game’s current platform-specific support instructions before replacing or overwriting a save. Do not assume that a save from one platform or storefront will work on another.
