The steps and available data vary by Vivo model, Android version, and the phone you’re moving from. Keep the old phone until you’ve checked the new one.
Before you start
- Charge both phones and make sure you can unlock the old one with its screen-lock PIN, pattern, or password.
- Back up the old Android phone before transferring. Connect to Wi-Fi for Android’s setup or backup flow; Google’s steps and options vary by device. Google’s Android switching guide explains the setup process.
- Choose a route: EasyShare Phone Clone, Android’s first-run copy prompts, or a Google backup restore. The options available depend on the source phone and software.
Transfer with Vivo EasyShare Phone Clone
EasyShare is Vivo’s direct QR-paired transfer option for Vivo-to-Vivo and supported cross-platform moves. Menu names can differ by model and software version; treat these as the usual labels, not guaranteed wording.

- Open EasyShare on both phones.
- On the old phone, choose Old phone. On the new Vivo, choose New phone.
- Use the old phone to scan the QR code shown on the new phone, then follow any on-screen pairing prompts.
- Select the data categories you want to move and start Phone Clone. Keep the phones available and wait until EasyShare reports completion.
- Check the new phone. If transferred apps did not install automatically, Vivo’s guide says to look under Files > Apps and install them manually. Vivo cautions: “Due to the permission limitation, the Apps transferred might not be installed on your phone automatically.” Vivo EasyShare support has the Phone Clone instructions.
EasyShare advertises file transfer without mobile data. That claim concerns the EasyShare transfer utility; it does not mean every other setup or restore route is offline.
Transfer during Android setup or restore a backup
If you’re setting up the Vivo for the first time, Android’s copy-data prompts are another option. Google says setup steps vary by device, so follow the screens shown on your Vivo.

- Turn on the new Vivo and follow its initial setup until it offers to copy apps and data.
- Choose direct transfer from the old phone if that option is offered. Unlock the old phone and follow the pairing and selection prompts. Some Google copy flows require an internet connection.
- If the old phone is unavailable, choose the option to restore from a Google backup when offered, then sign in to the Google Account used for that backup. See Google’s Android backup and restore guidance.
- Let the copy or restore finish, then check the new phone before erasing the old one.
A Google backup can include apps and app data, call history, contacts, device settings, and SMS/MMS, but individual apps do not necessarily back up or restore all their data. Photos and videos are backed up through Google Photos when you use that service. A backup made on a higher Android version may also fail to restore completely to a phone running a lower version. Google documents the included categories and limits in its backup guide.
Move data from an iPhone
Use the new Android phone’s iPhone-copy prompt and follow its instructions. Google documents both cable and wireless options, but availability depends on the devices and transfer method. Keep both phones connected until the process finishes. If you use a cable, an adapter may be needed if its ends do not fit both phones; check the connectors you already have before buying anything. Google’s guide to switching from iPhone to Android gives the method-specific steps and exclusions.

Turn off iMessage as Google instructs so messages can reach the Android phone. Google’s documented migration process excludes some content, including iCloud photos and videos, paid apps and in-app purchases, Safari bookmarks, and Health data. EasyShare does not transfer iOS app data; you may need to reinstall apps and sign in separately.

- Apps and app data: An app may transfer without installing, and its private data or login may not carry over. Install missing apps from Files > Apps if available, or from the appropriate app store, then sign in.
- Photos and videos: Check the folders and albums you rely on. Google Photos backup is separate from a general Android device backup.
- Messages, contacts, and downloads: Open the relevant apps or folders and confirm important items are present.
- iPhone-only or method-limited content: Check Google’s iPhone migration guide for exclusions that apply to your chosen method and device.
Verify the Vivo before wiping the old phone
Check contacts, messages, photos and videos, downloads, and priority apps on the new phone. Confirm that accounts work and that any app requiring a separate login is accessible. Do not reset, trade in, or recycle the old phone until those checks are complete; Google likewise advises confirming copied data before erasing the old device.

Other option: back up through a computer
Vivo’s manual describes EasyShare PC backup and restore, but the procedure and supported data can depend on the model and software version. Consult the manual for your specific Vivo rather than assuming the computer route copies the same content as Phone Clone. Vivo support and manuals provide model-specific help.
