Use the Walmart app to scan an item’s barcode for its current in-store listing price, and enable Walmart’s marketing push notifications for general deal messages. Walmart’s cited help pages do not document a built-in alert for a specific item or target price. If you want that, an independent tracker advertises watchlists and target-price alerts, but verify its coverage and check Walmart’s live listing before buying.
How to check a Walmart price in store
- Download the Walmart app and sign in.
- Tap the scanner icon in the search bar or open the Services tab and tap the scanner.
- Use your phone’s camera to scan the item’s barcode.
- Review the product listing and available price information. Walmart says the app can also show reviews, offer availability, eligibility, and manufacturer offers.
This is a way to look up an item, not a documented persistent price watch. If a scan fails or an in-store price does not appear, follow the troubleshooting prompts on Walmart’s Check a price page.

How to get general Walmart deal alerts
Walmart says marketing push notifications can include Deals, trends, new arrivals, and more. You need to allow notifications both in the app and in your phone’s system settings.

Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- In the Walmart app, open Account, then tap the settings gear.
- Find Communications or Communications & Privacy.
- Under Marketing and Product Feedback, enable Push Notifications.
- In your phone’s system settings, allow notifications for Walmart if they are turned off.
Walmart notes that menu labels and steps can vary by device model and operating-system version. Its notification instructions cover promotional messages; they do not describe alerts triggered by a chosen item’s price.

Can Walmart alert you when one item goes on sale?
The official Walmart help pages cited here explain marketing notifications and order or service messages, but do not document a product-specific watchlist or a user-set price threshold. Walmart’s Mobile Alerts Terms of Use likewise do not establish an item-price alert. That is what these pages document; it does not rule out a limited test, a regional feature, or a later app change.
Independent price-tracker apps
The Apple App Store listing for Price Tracker for Walmart, from developer Maeen Mawari, advertises price history, a watchlist, and alerts at a desired price. The listing says the app is not affiliated with or endorsed by Walmart. Those are developer claims, not independently verified alert accuracy or coverage.

Before relying on any third-party tracker, check which exact product listing, seller, store or location, and price it follows. Do not assume that an online price history reflects a local store price. Confirm the current price on Walmart’s live listing before placing an order. Also review the app’s current charges, notification permissions, and privacy terms; the cited listing indicates in-app purchases, but its privacy practices have not been assessed here.
Can you get a refund if Walmart’s price drops after you buy?
Do not assume a lower price later qualifies for a refund or adjustment. Walmart’s published online price-match policy, last updated June 7, 2023, says its policies differ between Walmart stores and Walmart.com. Its listed online exclusions include a later price decrease on an item already purchased from Walmart.com, competitor prices, Marketplace or other third-party seller prices, and items offered in Walmart stores. The policy says Walmart may modify its terms. For a specific purchase, check the current policy for the channel where you bought it; the online terms should not be applied automatically to a store purchase.

If you are capturing a page to document a listed deal or compare how an item page looks, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. One GET request returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. It is not a Walmart price tracker and does not send deal alerts.
Its clean-shot options accept cookie or consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, with the response indicating the page verdict and billing status. AI agents can use its MCP server tools: take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf.
