Keep uncertain announcements—such as “TBA,” “Q4 2026,” or “summer 2027”—as windows, not invented calendar days.
Choose a calendar that matches what you want to track
A single storefront cannot answer a cross-platform question. Steam’s Upcoming Releases page is useful for Steam games, but it does not provide a whole-market view. For multiple storefronts, Upcoming Games says it tracks dates from Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Epic Games Store, GOG, and publisher pages, with source links and date or platform details.

For a genre-first view, RPGFan’s upcoming RPG releases separates dated games from those whose dates are still to be determined. Treat it as an editorial RPG calendar, rather than an official catalog for every platform. These options serve different purposes: a cross-store tracker consolidates sources, a genre calendar narrows discovery, and a storefront listing is focused on its own platform.
Build a list around your platforms and interests
Start with the genres and systems you actually care about. Filter for RPGs or relevant subgenres, then select the platforms you use where those controls are available. A focused genre calendar can reduce unrelated releases; checking the platform’s own upcoming page can reveal titles that a general tracker does not include.

For each game you decide to follow, record its title, platform or store, announced date or window, confirmation status, and a direct link to the source. A last-checked date can help you spot stale entries if you maintain a personal list, but it is simply a useful organizational choice.
Keep announced dates and uncertainty intact
Copy the timing in the form the source gives it. If a publisher or storefront lists a specific day, record that day; if it lists only “TBA,” a year, a quarter, or a season, preserve that broader status. Do not turn an estimated date shown by a tracker into a publisher-confirmed release day.

- Exact date: Record the announced day and link the announcement or listing.
- Year, quarter, or season: Keep the stated window, such as “2027,” “Q4 2026,” or “summer 2027.”
- TBA: Mark the date as undetermined rather than guessing.
These distinctions matter because release timing and platform availability can change. Storefront and tracker pages include both broader windows and TBA entries; the Steam, PlayStation, and RPGFan listings are examples.
Verify important details at the original source
A calendar is an index, not the final authority for a purchase or a release roundup. Follow its source link to the relevant platform or publisher page before relying on a date or platform listing. Check that the page refers to the correct region and edition, and whether it describes early access or a full release. Recheck preorder details and availability close to launch, since these can change too.

For example, Arc System Works’ page for Qliphah in Providence’s Shadow lists September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Epic. That is a publisher-page example, not a guarantee that the date remains current; confirm the publisher listing before repeating it as current information.

Once you know where you intend to play, wishlist or follow the game on that platform. PlayStation’s PS5 games listing, for instance, includes dated and TBA titles with wishlist or preorder actions. Reminder options vary between services, so use them as a supplement to your cross-store list rather than assuming every platform sends the same alerts.

Refresh the list when dates approach
Release dates, regions, editions, platform availability, preorder details, and early-access or full-release status are all details worth checking again near launch. If you publish a roundup, refresh each volatile entry against its linked source immediately before publication.
