To track a specific Indian Railways or IRCTC website update with ChangeTower, start with the official page that publishes that kind of information, then create a monitor for that page and tune its change rule, schedule, and alerts. Use a keyword for a named term, Smart Monitor for a clearly described notice, or selective monitoring when other parts of the page change frequently. Check alerts against the official source: monitoring a page is not the same as following train status, ticket availability, or an official alert service.
Choose the official page that matches the update
There is no verified single official feed that covers every passenger-facing IRCTC update. Railway Board material, IRCTC corporate announcements, and passenger-service pages serve different purposes, so identify the page relevant to your question before setting up a monitor.

Railway Board and Ministry material
The Railway Board portal is an official Ministry of Railways portal with directorate and passenger-information sections, as well as circular-related material. Start at the portal and choose the relevant directorate or page instead of assuming one page contains every railway update. The portal page surfaced in the reviewed material has an old review date, so verify that the page is still current before relying on it.

IRCTC corporate announcements
IRCTC’s 2022–23 annual report describes company announcements being disseminated through press releases, the company website, and other media. It also describes the Investors’ section as a place for corporate announcements and disclosures. That establishes a route for corporate information, not a comprehensive feed for passenger-facing service changes. Check IRCTC’s current official website and the relevant section before creating your monitor.

Know what website monitoring does not cover
A page-change alert tells you that monitored web content appears to have changed. It does not establish train running status, ticket availability, or that a travel policy change applies to your journey. For consequential travel or policy decisions, open and verify the underlying official notice.
Set up a ChangeTower monitor
ChangeTower documents URL-based monitoring with configurable criteria, schedules, and notification settings. The product describes these features; the steps below are a practical setup, not a claim of hands-on testing or an official railway integration. Product labels and options can change, so consult ChangeTower’s feature information for current availability.
Rank #2
- Pick one exact official page. Open the relevant Railway Board circular or directorate page, or the IRCTC page where the corporate announcement or service information appears. Use the page that publishes the change you care about, not just a broad homepage.
- Create a monitor for its URL. In ChangeTower, enter the page URL and proceed to the monitor settings.
- Choose the change criterion. Use content monitoring if any text change matters, a keyword rule if you are watching for a specific phrase, or Smart Monitor natural-language criteria if you can describe the notice you want. If unrelated page elements generate noise, choose selective monitoring for the relevant region where available.
- Set the check schedule. Pick a cadence appropriate to how often you need to review that page. A faster schedule may be useful for time-sensitive notices, but do not treat it as instant detection or a guaranteed delivery time.
- Choose notification routing. Configure email or another documented route such as Slack, Teams, or webhook if it fits your workflow. Make sure the destination is one you actually review.
- Save and review the first alert. When notified, open the official page and inspect the actual notice. Adjust the monitored area or rule if the alert reflects irrelevant navigation, banners, or other page changes.
Choose criteria and reduce noisy alerts
| What you need to detect | ChangeTower approach | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| A specific phrase, such as a named circular or service term | Keyword monitoring | Focused on the phrase you provide; a notice using different wording may not match. |
| A type of notice you can describe in ordinary language | Smart Monitor / AI criteria | Useful when exact wording is unknown; review alerts against the source rather than treating them as authoritative decisions. |
| Any meaningful text change on a page | Content monitoring | Broad coverage can also surface routine or irrelevant edits. |
| One changing region within a busier page | Selective-area monitoring | Reduces unrelated changes, but the monitored region must contain the material you care about. |
| Updates across multiple pages or a domain | Domain monitoring or a set of individual monitors | A domain-wide scope is broader than a known-page monitor; verify which pages and areas are actually included in your configuration. |
For example, if you only care whether a particular circular number appears, use that identifier as a keyword. If you want notices of a described category whose wording may vary, use a clear Smart Monitor criterion. If a page’s header or navigation changes often, selective monitoring can focus attention on its notice list. ChangeTower documents these controls, but the best setting depends on the page and your alert tolerance.

Cadence, delivery, and verification
ChangeTower documents scheduled checks and notification options including email, Slack, Teams, and webhooks. The right check interval depends on the page and how quickly you need to review changes. The available product description does not establish a specific detection or delivery guarantee, so keep the official page as the final source of truth.
Rank #3
- Use an interval that gives you a manageable volume of alerts and a suitable review window.
- Route notices to an inbox or channel you monitor; a webhook is useful only if your receiving system handles it correctly.
- When an alert arrives, confirm the change on the official page and read the full notice, including its date and scope.
- For time-sensitive travel decisions, use the appropriate official passenger service rather than inferring live status from website changes.
Indian Railways’ Annual Report and Accounts 2023–24 reports 33,304 press releases issued “During the year.” This is a figure for that reporting year and organization, not a current annual rate or a count of passenger notices; it illustrates why a targeted page and criterion can be more useful than treating every announcement as relevant.
Common problems and fixes
Too many alerts
Whole-page content monitoring may notice changes outside the notice area. Narrow the rule to a keyword or relevant region, or use a clearly described AI criterion. Recheck the page after adjusting because the important content must remain within the monitored scope.

An expected notice does not trigger an alert
Confirm that the monitor points to the page where the notice was actually published and that the criterion matches its wording or region. A keyword can miss alternate wording; a selective area can miss content moved elsewhere. Review the page directly and revise the rule if needed.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThe alert arrives later than expected
Check the configured schedule and notification destination. A scheduled monitor is not necessarily instantaneous, and the documented feature description does not promise a particular delivery time. For urgent matters, check the relevant official channel directly.
The page changes, but it is not a passenger update
Railway Board, corporate-investor, and passenger-service pages publish different types of material. Switch to the page aligned with your question and confirm the category of the notice before acting on it.

If you need a screenshot of an official notice page for a record or workflow, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It is not a railway update monitor and will not notify you when a page changes. Its API takes a URL in one GET request and returns an image or PDF. For example, this cURL request captures a page as WebP:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://indianrailways.gov.in/ -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for authentication and options. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and the free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month with no card.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ChangeTower monitor train running status or ticket availability?
A website-change monitor is not a live train-status or ticket-availability feed. Use the relevant official passenger service for those needs.
Is IRCTC’s Investors’ section a feed for every passenger update?
No. IRCTC’s 2022–23 annual report describes that section in connection with corporate announcements and disclosures; it does not establish a comprehensive passenger-update feed.
