GTA 6 preorders opened June 25, 2026, at midnight local time, and Rockstar has set the game’s launch for November 19, 2026. The useful question now is whether a listing is currently available in your country—not when preorders will begin. For publisher announcements, follow Rockstar’s official GTA VI site, Newswire, or Propaganda email newsletter; for a purchase, verify the live listing in your console’s store or with a local retailer.
Where to get reliable GTA 6 announcements
Rockstar Support identifies the Grand Theft Auto VI official site, Rockstar Newswire, and Rockstar Propaganda email newsletter as the best places to find preorder information. The game site also promotes the newsletter for game announcements, events, and offers. Follow the site and Newswire for publisher updates, or sign up for email if you prefer updates in your inbox.

Rockstar announced that preorders would open June 25, 2026, at midnight local time, with launch scheduled for November 19, 2026. That preorder opening date has passed. Use official Rockstar channels to confirm publisher announcements, rather than relying on rumor posts, screenshots without a verifiable listing, or old availability roundups.

- Check the store for your console. GTA VI is announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Look up the listing in the official store for the console you own and confirm the platform before buying. PlayStation’s preorder announcement covered the PlayStation Store route; the Xbox game page is the Xbox Series X|S listing.
- Check retailers serving your country. Rockstar says select retailers and third-party storefronts may offer the game depending on country. Open the retailer’s own current product page to confirm that it is available to purchase, and check the seller, platform, edition, delivery or pickup terms, and any stated code region.
- Revisit unavailable listings without assuming a schedule. If a retailer shows sold out or unavailable, check its current page again later. The available sources do not establish a universal restock calendar or alert service, so don’t treat a past listing—or an old roundup—as proof of present stock or a prediction of the next restock.

PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S
Rockstar’s announced platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Make sure a listing matches the console you own; a listing for one platform is not interchangeable with the other.

Standard or Ultimate Edition
Check the edition named on the store or retailer listing. Rockstar says Standard Edition owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade as a digital add-on after redeeming their code. Rockstar’s support page says there is no physical Ultimate Edition.
Digital purchase or boxed code
A boxed copy is not a disc. Rockstar says the physical version is a Standard Edition download code inside a box. Check that the retailer’s description clearly identifies what is included before buying.

Code-region compatibility
Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the country associated with your platform account to avoid activation problems. Code-region rules vary by platform and territory, so check the listing’s region restrictions and your account’s country before purchase.

A simple way to judge an availability claim
- Publisher news: use Rockstar’s official channels for announcements about the game.
- Purchase availability: use the live console-store or retailer page for the country where you intend to buy.
- Old reports: treat past retailer coverage only as a record of what was listed on its publication date. For example, a June 25, 2026 roundup reported retailer listings during the preorder rollout; it does not establish current stock.
- Unverified alerts: don’t assume a retailer offers stock notifications unless that option is visible on its current local listing.
