There is no documented universal dashboard that automatically combines every AI coding assistant bill. To build a reliable cross-vendor view, collect each vendor’s official exports or API records, preserve the original data, normalize it in a separate reporting layer, and reconcile totals against invoices. Treat coverage and detail as account-specific: a vendor’s dashboard may not include every organization, product, or billing arrangement you use.
Build a cross-vendor spend view in seven steps
-
Inventory every billing scope
List each vendor and product, organization or workspace, billing owner, reporting role, subscription or API billing arrangement, and available export or API. Do not assume one vendor login represents one legal entity, one account, or one invoice.

-
Collect each vendor’s original records
Prefer official CSV exports or documented APIs. Keep the source record unchanged and record its origin, retrieval time, account scope, reporting period, and API version. If a field is missing, leave it missing rather than inferring it from another dashboard.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

Preserve raw values; normalize separately
Keep vendor-reported tokens, credits, requests, seats, subscription amounts, discounts, and currency as-is. Add derived fields for normalized currency and reporting-period summaries without overwriting the original values. Credits, tokens, requests, and seats are different measures; converting them into one “usage” figure can obscure what was actually billed.
-
Attribute costs only to fields the source supports
Use user, model, product, team, API key, SKU, or cost-center breakdowns only when the relevant vendor record provides them. For example, GitHub’s documented organization AI-credit usage response includes product, SKU, model, unit type, price per unit, gross and net quantities and amounts, and discounts. Anthropic documents model and API-key breakdowns in Claude Console reports. OpenAI’s enterprise announcement describes user, product, and model visibility for eligible organizations.
-
Reconcile to billing records
Compare usage records with invoices, subscription charges, credits, discounts, and taxes. Record period boundaries and delayed adjustments. The documented sources do not set out one reconciliation method for all vendors; use the vendor’s billing statement as the financial record of record.
-
Set controls where spending originates
GitHub documents budget controls and threshold alerts for enterprise Copilot spend. A portfolio dashboard is useful for visibility, but do not assume it prevents overages or that another vendor offers identical controls.

Publish a concise portfolio report
Show vendor and product, billing period, billed amount, native usage measure, coverage status, and the owner or team when supported. Include a link to the source record and a completeness note that identifies vendors or accounts not yet included.

What each vendor’s documented reporting can show
These are vendor-specific reporting surfaces, not a promise of a single feed across providers. Access, available fields, and account coverage can depend on product, plan, role, permissions, and configuration.
| Vendor | Documented reporting option | Important scope or implementation note |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI API | The Usage Dashboard supports monthly usage review and CSV exports for detailed usage or cost data. | OpenAI says the dashboard does not combine cost or usage data across organizations. Treat organization coverage as a separate collection question. If expected data is missing, check permissions and filters. |
| OpenAI enterprise | OpenAI announced a Global Admin Console view of ChatGPT and Codex credit usage across users, products, and models, plus a unified Cost API for deeper analysis in an organization’s own systems. | This is enterprise-specific reporting, not a universal cross-vendor feed. |
| GitHub Copilot | GitHub documents an organization AI-credit usage endpoint. Enterprise spend guidance also describes spending visualization, credit budgets, threshold alerts, cost centers, and API-based identification of inactive users. | Confirm current API version, permissions, account plan, and billing unit before implementing an endpoint or interpreting fields. |
| Anthropic Claude | Claude Console provides cost and usage reports, including breakdowns by model and API key; Claude Code organization analytics separately describes usage, cost, adoption, and productivity views. Claude Enterprise usage and cost data is also available through its Analytics API. | Report access depends on role. Anthropic says Enterprise Analytics API data can be brought into tools such as Datadog Cloud Cost Management and CloudZero; that example does not establish coverage for all vendors. |
| Cursor | Documentation describes dashboard usage and token breakdowns, plus centralized team billing. | Pricing and usage may vary by plan, model, and mode. Check current account documentation for commercial details. |

How to evaluate a dashboard or integration
Before relying on a cost platform or an internally built dashboard, check whether it answers these questions for the accounts you actually use:
- Coverage: Which vendors, products, organizations, and billing arrangements are ingested? Are any workspaces or invoices excluded?
- Freshness: How often are exports or API records collected, and how much delay is expected?
- Granularity: Can you see model, user, team, API key, or cost center, or only a total?
- Invoice fidelity: Are credits, discounts, taxes, subscription charges, and adjustments represented, and do totals reconcile with billing statements?
- Unit handling: Are native units retained alongside any normalized summaries?
- Permissions and auditability: Which roles or scopes are required, and can you trace a report number back to its source record?
- Controls: Are budgets and alerts actually available at the vendor or account scope you need?
If using an integration, verify that every intended vendor is ingested and that its billing amounts reconcile. Anthropic’s named destinations for Enterprise Analytics API data are examples of where that API can be used, not proof of universal all-vendor support.
Quick Recap
Best Value
Common mistakes that make totals misleading
- Assuming one account means complete coverage: OpenAI explicitly says its Usage Dashboard does not combine usage or cost data across organizations.
- Adding unlike units together: A token count, credit quantity, seat count, and currency amount cannot be treated as interchangeable measures. Show native usage separately from spend.
- Calling usage an invoice total: A usage export may not include every subscription charge, tax, credit, discount, or later adjustment. Reconcile with the billing statement.
- Assigning users or teams without evidence: If a source only reports an organization total, do not allocate it to individual users or teams in the report.
- Assuming identical access across plans: Reporting endpoints, analytics, and controls may require specific plans, permissions, or account configurations.
