If you’re trying to track a Super Chat refund, first check whether YouTube approved one: YouTube describes Super Chat payments as voluntary and non-refundable, so an ordinary purchase usually has no refund to follow. If a refund was approved, check the order status in Google Payments and then look for the credit on the original payment method. If you did not make the purchase, report it as an unauthorized charge instead.
Which situation are you dealing with?

Check the status of an approved refund
- Sign in at payments.google.com with the Google Account used for the purchase.
- Find and open the Super Chat order. If it is not visible, select “View more transactions” and look through the additional activity.
- Read the order’s status. “Refunded” means YouTube says a credit should appear on the payment method used for the purchase. “Canceled” means the order was not charged, so there is no refund credit to wait for.
- Check the original payment account: the card, bank account, or carrier account used at checkout. YouTube says refunds go back to the original payment method.
How long can a YouTube refund take?
YouTube Help says most refunds are processed within 5 business days. Its published estimates vary by payment method; they are not guarantees for a particular Indian bank, card issuer, or carrier. The help page’s publication date was not shown when these estimates were checked on October 3, 2026.

Processing or posting can depend on the payment provider. If Google Payments shows “Refunded” but the credit is not visible after the relevant estimate, contact the bank, card issuer, or carrier that handled the original payment. Provide the transaction details and ask them to check for a pending or posted credit.
Report and track a Super Chat charge you did not make
An unauthorized charge is different from changing your mind about a voluntary Super Chat. YouTube says to report unauthorized digital purchase charges within 120 days of the transaction.

- Use YouTube’s unauthorized-purchase reporting process and submit the report within 120 days of the charge.
- Keep the email address used to submit the report and the claim ID YouTube sends by email.
- Use the reporting email and claim ID when you need to find or follow up on the claim. This is a claim-tracking process, not the Google Payments status check for an approved refund.
Check where an Android purchase was billed
Some new Super Chat purchases made in the YouTube Android app are billed through Google Play; not every Android purchase necessarily uses that route. YouTube points users to pay.google.com to view new charges and billing details. Check the account and billing record associated with the purchase so you are looking in the right place.
Common status and timing questions
- The order says “Canceled.” YouTube says the order was not charged. Look for a pending authorization separately with your payment provider if one appears; a canceled order does not mean a refund credit is due.
- The order says “Refunded,” but I cannot see the money. Confirm you checked the original payment method and allow for the relevant processing estimate. Your provider may take additional time to show the credit.
- I want to reverse a Super Chat I chose to send. YouTube’s policy describes these payments as non-refundable. Do not assume a refund will be granted; the unauthorized-charge route is for a purchase you did not authorize.
- I cannot find the transaction. Confirm you are signed in to the Google Account used to make the purchase, then use “View more transactions.” For some new Android-app purchases, inspect Google Play billing details at pay.google.com.
- I reported a charge but cannot locate the claim. Use the email address from the report and the claim ID YouTube emailed to you.
