The Problem Vault is a web prototype intended to collect real-world problems, track their complexity and let people vote on which issues deserve attention. To help test it, try the two tasks its creator requested: submit one genuine problem, then find and upvote an existing problem that resonates with you. Your experience can show where the flow is clear—or where it needs work.
What The Problem Vault is meant to do
A DEV Community post describes The Problem Vault as a prototype created for a Young Enterprise company challenge. Its purpose is to gather everyday frustrations and bottlenecks from users, track their complexity and use votes to help prioritize what might be solved next. The creator asked readers to contribute a problem and vote before the team’s first meeting: read the project post.

The post explains the intended purpose and asks for testing, but it is not an independent evaluation of the app. The live prototype could not be accessed for verification, so its submission, voting and other features should be treated as unconfirmed until you try them.

1. Log one real problem
Choose a specific frustration you have experienced, rather than a proposed solution. For example, describe the bottleneck and when it occurs. Then look for the submission action and follow the form as presented. The creator’s post labels this task “Log a problem.”
#1 Best Overall
- Teaches Essential Life and Social Skills: Covers critical topics like personal safety, bullying, problem-solving, and smart decision-making, while actively building social skills through interactive play.
- Ages 4-10, Perfect for Families & Educators: The core game is suitable for children 4-8 years old, and the content is valuable for kids up to age 10. It's ideal for family game nights and use by educators or health professionals in classrooms or clubs.
- Multiplayer Fun: Designed for 2 to 8 players, making it excellent for both small groups and larger family or classroom settings.
- Interactive & Dynamic Play: With over 200 questions and activity cards, the game is dynamic and interactive, requiring players to move, draw, spell, and act—no additional items are needed.
- Great for Bonding: Promotes connection and meaningful conversations, but is generally recommended to be played with a "game leader" (parent or adult) to guide the important safety and life-skill discussions.
Before you start, say what you expect the form to ask for. Afterward, describe what you think happened. Note whether the action was easy to find, the requested information made sense, and the result clearly indicated whether the problem was added.
2. Find and upvote a problem
Browse the vault for an existing problem you recognize, then try to vote for it. Before acting, explain what you expect a vote to do. After acting, say whether you believe your vote registered and what on-screen evidence led you to that conclusion.

Pay attention to whether it is clear which entries already exist and whether voting feels distinct from submitting a new problem. These observations help separate confusion about the interface from disagreement with the idea of prioritizing problems by votes.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhat to observe while testing
Watch a few people who resemble the intended users attempt both tasks without coaching. A small, conversational first round can reveal where people hesitate and what they believe the app has done. Record what you observe separately from opinions and feature requests.

- Task completion: Could the tester submit a problem and vote without help?
- Hesitation: Where did they pause, backtrack or ask what to do?
- Clarity: Did they understand what information to enter and what the vault contains?
- Feedback: Could they tell whether a submission or vote succeeded?
- Trust: What would make them comfortable returning to the vault?
After identifying the most frequent task-blocking issues, make focused changes and ask testers to repeat the same tasks. Comparing the next attempt with the first gives the team a practical way to see whether the changes made the experience easier. This is a useful prototype-testing approach, not a claim that the app has already passed a formal evaluation. It is consistent with the design-process guidance in the Engineers Ireland STEPS Young Engineers Award project book and the BUILD student design challenge, which describe testing solutions with others and using feedback to improve them.
Questions the post does not answer
The creator identifies problem submission, complexity tracking and voting as intended functions. The post does not establish whether the current build handles these cases, so treat them as questions to investigate rather than features you can assume are present:

- Does a submission remain after the page is reloaded?
- Can a user edit or delete a problem?
- What happens if two people submit the same or a very similar problem?
- Are there limits on how often someone can vote?
- Does the interface explain validation errors and offer a way to recover?
- Can people using assistive technology understand and operate the form and voting controls?
- Does the app explain what information it collects and how it is used?
If you check any of these, report only what you personally observe. Do not treat an unclear result as proof that a feature is absent; it may be difficult to find or may behave differently under another account or session.
How this fits the Young Enterprise challenge
The project post connects the prototype to a Young Enterprise company challenge, but the available information does not establish that The Problem Vault is an official Young Enterprise tool or that its creator is participating in 10X. Young Enterprise’s official 10X page says the programme is planned to relaunch in Spring 2027 and that existing DIY resources remain downloadable until the refreshed launch. The page describes support for confidence and enterprising mindsets; it should not be read as confirmation of the tracker’s status or the next programme’s full structure.
