Play your game before sharing it, then choose its visibility in Google Playground: use Unlisted to share a direct link with selected people, or Listed / Discoverable to make it publicly searchable after Google’s safety evaluation. New games start as drafts, and edits to a published game do not replace its live version until you publish again.
How to test a game before sharing it
Google describes playing a generated game as part of the creation process: you can test it right away, then revise it by describing what you want changed. There is no documented formal QA checklist, so use your own playthrough to check whether the result matches the idea you had in mind.

- Play through the game and check whether its mechanics and presentation match your intended concept.
- Notice unclear rules, awkward controls, visual problems, or points where the game does not behave as expected.
- Try it on the kind of device you expect people to use. Creation is optimized for modern mobile and desktop browsers; most games are responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop, but that depends on how the creator implemented the game.
Google says you can play a game while another is generating. It does not specify a required preview button or a universal sequence of testing steps. Playground Help Center; Google’s launch announcement.
How to revise the game
When you find something to improve, make a focused change rather than bundling many complex requests together. Google recommends clear, specific conversational instructions for editing a game’s logic, graphics, or rules.

- Open Your Games.
- Open the game or draft using its edit icon.
- Describe one clear change you want, such as adjusting a rule or changing a visual element.
- Play the result again to check whether the change had the intended effect.

Choose who can access the game
Playground does not share a new creation automatically. Games begin as drafts; publish from Creation Studio or change visibility in Your Games. Pick the setting that matches your audience:
Rank #2
| Visibility | Who can access it | Search and discovery | Useful for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Draft | Creator only; no standalone game link | Not public | A work in progress |
| Private | Creator only | Not public | Keeping a compiled game to yourself |
| Unlisted | Anyone with the unique direct link | Hidden from public search and discovery | Sharing with selected people |
| Listed / Discoverable | Public | Searchable across Playground after safety evaluation | Reaching the broader Playground community |
These visibility descriptions are from the Playground Help Center.
How to share a game with a link
For limited sharing, set the game to Unlisted and give people its direct link. Anyone with that link can play, but the game stays out of public search and discovery. If you want the community to find it, choose Listed / Discoverable; Google says public listing is subject to automated safety evaluation.
Follow Playground’s sharing rules when adding links or promoting a game. Its Community Guidelines say not to link to, share, or display URLs of external websites in games, and direct creators to use the Social Links feature to share a game. The guidelines also require respect for copyright and prohibit misleading impersonation.
What happens when you edit a published game?
Changes to a published game remain private as a draft until you explicitly publish again. The already-published version remains playable while you work. When your revisions are ready, publish them to replace the live version.

Why a game link might not open
A link can stop working if the creator deletes the game, changes its visibility to Draft or Private, or if Playground removes it for policy violations. If you are the creator, check the game’s status and visibility in Your Games; if you are the recipient, ask the creator to confirm the game is still available and share its current link. Google’s announcement on October 7, 2026 described Playground as an experiment launching in the United States for people aged 18 and older. The Help Center says creation access is rolling out in phases; at launch, browsing and playing the catalog is available to U.S. users aged 18 and older. Google also says free-tier game generation has a limited number of tokens refreshed weekly, while a Google One AI plan can provide higher weekly token limits and, at launch, immediate access to game creation. These launch details may change; check the Playground Help Center for current access information.

Google’s launch announcement also said Unity Spark integration was planned, with a closed beta coming soon at that time. That was a dated plan, not a promise of current availability. Google’s October 7, 2026 announcement.
