Press and release the Power/Side key and Volume Down together. A brief screen flash indicates the screenshot was captured. The physical keys are the most dependable method; gesture and scrolling options depend on the device’s software and may not be available on every Galaxy A14 variant.
Take a screenshot with the buttons
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press the Power/Side key and Volume Down at the same time, then release them briefly. Do not hold them down; a long press may open the power menu.
- Look for a brief flash on the display as confirmation.
Use the physical side keys; their exact placement can vary. Can you use a gesture instead?
Try Palm swipe to capture
If you would rather swipe, open Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Palm swipe to capture and turn it on if the option appears. Then swipe the edge of your hand across the screen. Samsung says available motions and gestures can vary by model or software version, and Palm swipe does not work while the keyboard is showing. If the setting is missing, use the button method.

Capture more than the visible screen
For a long webpage or document, first take a regular screenshot. If Scroll capture appears in the screenshot toolbar, tap it to extend the capture beyond the visible area. The control may depend on the device and software, so it is not guaranteed to appear on every A14.

If the screenshot does not work
- Try the keys again: press both together and release after a brief moment.
- Check the case: remove a bulky case temporarily if it makes either key difficult to press.
- Consider app restrictions: if capture fails only in a particular app or screen, privacy or security protections may be blocking screenshots. Some banking apps restrict capture.
- If Palm swipe is unavailable: use the physical-key method rather than assuming a gesture option is supported on your device.
