There is no single keyboard shortcut that captures an entire webpage on every device. The quickest method depends on your browser: press Ctrl + Shift + S in Firefox or Microsoft Edge, then choose the browser’s full-page option. In Chrome, Ctrl + Shift + P (or Command + Shift + P on Mac) opens DevTools’ Command Menu; you must then choose a screenshot command. iPhone has no keyboard shortcut: use the hardware screenshot buttons, tap the thumbnail, and choose Full Page.

Shortcuts can change with browser versions, device type and market. If a combination does nothing, open the browser’s menus and look for Screenshot, Web Capture or DevTools instead of assuming the page cannot be captured.
Firefox: save the entire page
Windows and Linux
- Open the webpage in Firefox.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + S.
- When the screenshot interface appears, choose Save full page.
- Download the image or use the copy-to-clipboard control.
macOS
- Open the page in Firefox.
- Press Command + Shift + S.
- Choose Save full page.
- Save the resulting image or copy it.
Firefox also offers visible-screen and selected-region captures. Those modes are different from a full-page shot: they include only what you choose rather than content below the current viewport.
Microsoft Edge: use Capture full page
- Open the target page in Edge.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + S to open Edge Screenshot.
- Select Capture full page.
- Use the overlay’s copy or save action.
Edge describes this mode as including content below the visible screen. Microsoft cautions that feature availability and behavior can vary by device type, market and browser version, so check the current Edge interface if the shortcut opens a different tool.

Chrome: open DevTools, then choose a screenshot command
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + P on Windows or Linux, or Command + Shift + P on macOS. This opens the DevTools Command Menu.
- Type screenshot in the command field.
- Select the screenshot command that corresponds to a full-page or full-size capture.
- Let Chrome finish rendering and save the generated image.
The shortcut opens the command menu; it is not, by itself, a guaranteed one-step full-page capture. Chrome’s documented command-menu workflow includes screenshot commands, but the exact list and labels can vary with the current DevTools version. If you select an area-capture command, you will get only that region, so read the command name before confirming.
iPhone: Full Page is a touch workflow, not a keyboard shortcut
- In Safari, open the webpage you want to capture.
- On iPhones without a Home button, quickly press the Side button + Volume Up together. On models with a Home button, press Home + Side button.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail that appears.
- Choose Full Page.
- Save or share the resulting capture.
Apple’s Full Page option is intended for content such as a webpage that extends beyond the screen. The initial button combination creates the screenshot; selecting Full Page is what changes it from a visible-screen image to the longer capture.
Which shortcut should you use?
Choose Firefox when you want the clearest two-step path
Firefox explicitly separates the shortcut from the Save full page choice. It is a straightforward option when you need an image of the whole document and want either a download or clipboard copy.

Choose Edge when you already use Microsoft’s browser
Edge’s Capture full page action is similarly direct. It is convenient for pages that continue well below the viewport, but the available controls may differ across versions and devices.

Chrome requires an extra command-menu selection, which makes it less of a single shortcut but useful when you need DevTools’ other capture commands as well. Confirm that you selected the full-page command rather than area capture.
Choose iPhone Full Page for Safari documents
On iPhone, the hardware-button and thumbnail flow is the supported route. It does not require a physical keyboard and is separate from desktop browser shortcuts.

Why a “full-page” shot can differ from what you see
- Lazy content: Some pages load images or sections only as you scroll. A browser capture may need time to render those sections before the image is complete.
- Fixed headers: A navigation bar that stays pinned can appear repeatedly or overlap content in a long stitched image.
- Responsive layout: The screenshot uses the current window or device width. A narrow phone layout and a wide desktop layout are different captures.
- Dynamic pages: Ads, chat panels, consent dialogs and animations can change while the browser is assembling the image.
- Very long pages: Large captures can take longer to render and produce large image files. If the browser appears busy, wait for completion before pressing the shortcut again.
Troubleshooting shortcuts and captures
The shortcut opens nothing
- Click the webpage first so the browser, not another application, has keyboard focus.
- Check whether your operating system or another extension has claimed the key combination.
- Open the browser’s menu and locate Screenshot, Web Capture or DevTools manually.
- On compact keyboards, verify that you are using the letter keys and the correct Command key on macOS.
Only the visible screen was saved
Return to the capture interface and explicitly select Save full page, Capture full page or the full-size DevTools command. A visible-screen or area command cannot be expanded after it has been saved.
The bottom of the page is missing
- Wait for the page’s images and content to finish loading.
- Scroll through the page once, then repeat the capture so lazy-loaded sections have a chance to appear.
- Temporarily close overlays that cover the page and try again.
- For a highly dynamic page, use a capture service that can wait for a selector, delay or network idle condition.
The screenshot contains a cookie banner, popup or chat widget
Dismiss those elements before using the browser shortcut. If a banner returns on every load, a service with consent and overlay handling can produce a cleaner result.

Read the command names carefully. Select the option describing the full page or full size, not area capture. Chrome’s Command Menu shortcut only opens the list; it does not choose for you.
iPhone shows no Full Page tab
Full Page appears after you tap the screenshot thumbnail and is mainly available for supported document-like content such as a Safari webpage. Make sure you opened the thumbnail immediately after taking the screenshot.

Performance, reliability and cost considerations
- Local shortcuts: They use your current browser session and are convenient for occasional manual work, but results depend on page state, extensions, viewport and rendering timing.

Can one shortcut capture a full webpage in every browser?
No. Firefox and Edge use Ctrl/Command-based capture tools with a second full-page selection, Chrome opens DevTools before you choose a command, and iPhone uses hardware buttons.
Does a full-page screenshot include content hidden behind a login?
It captures what the current browser session can access. Sign in first when the page requires authentication, and avoid sharing captures that contain private account data.
