To capture a page that extends below the screen on an iPhone 14: open it in Safari, quickly press and release the side button and volume-up button together, tap the screenshot thumbnail, choose Full Page, review the long preview, then save it. Apple documents this workflow for content beyond the display, using an entire Safari webpage as its example.
The Full Page control appears only where iOS supports a scrollable capture. Apple does not promise it for every app or every webpage, so use the option when it is offered rather than expecting it universally.
What you need before you start
- An iPhone 14 with the page or document open.
- Safari if you want to capture an entire webpage; leave the content you need loaded before taking the screenshot.
- Enough free storage for the resulting image or PDF.
The iPhone 14 uses Face ID, so its screenshot shortcut is the same one Apple documents for Face ID iPhones. Apple’s current guide is labeled for iOS 27; button labels and save menus can differ by iOS version or language.
Take a full-page screenshot in Safari
- Open the webpage. Launch Safari, navigate to the page, and wait for the text, images, and other content you need to load. A page that has not finished loading may produce an incomplete capture.
- Take the screenshot. Quickly press and release the side button and volume-up button at the same time. Do not hold them down; holding the buttons can open the power-off or emergency screen instead.
- Open the screenshot editor. Tap the thumbnail that briefly appears in the lower-left corner. If you let the thumbnail disappear, take the screenshot again.
- Select Full Page. At the top of the editor, tap Full Page. The preview expands beyond the visible screen and can include the rest of the Safari webpage.
- Inspect the long capture. Drag the miniature page preview on the right to move through the capture. Check that lazy-loaded sections, tables, and the final content are present.
- Crop or annotate if needed. Use the crop handles to keep only a smaller portion. Markup tools let you draw, add text, shapes, or a signature before saving.
- Save it. Choose the save option shown on screen. Apple documents saving ordinary screenshots to Photos and saving a full-page capture as a PDF to Files. The wording and available destinations can vary with iOS version and language.
Apple’s official example is an entire webpage in Safari: Take a screenshot on iPhone.

Image or PDF: choose the right output
Use the screenshot workflow for a visual capture
The Full Page editor is the built-in route when you want a long representation of the page, with optional cropping and Markup. The resulting capture is handled through the save choices iOS presents; a standard screenshot normally goes to Photos, while Apple’s detailed full-page instructions include Save PDF to Files.
Use Safari’s PDF export for a document
Safari has a separate webpage-to-PDF flow. Open the page menu or Share control, choose Markup, then use More and Done to select Save File To. This creates a shareable PDF rather than using the screenshot editor. Apple describes the process in Annotate and save a webpage as a PDF in Safari on iPhone.
These are two distinct routes: Full Page begins with a screenshot and can save a PDF, while Safari’s Share/Markup route exports the webpage as a PDF. Pick the first for a visual capture with annotation; pick the second when a document is the main goal.
Why Full Page may not appear
The current app does not support it
Apple’s guide uses Safari as its example but does not publish an exhaustive app-by-app compatibility list. Some apps offer only a normal viewport screenshot. If Full Page is absent, the app or current view may not expose a scrollable capture to iOS.

The view is not a supported webpage
Try the same content in Safari. A native app, embedded browser, PDF viewer, canvas, or dynamically changing panel may not provide the same capture control. This is a compatibility limitation, not a different button combination.
The page has not finished loading
Wait for images and expandable sections to load, then capture again. For pages that load content only after scrolling, move through the page once before taking the screenshot so the browser has a chance to request it.
The thumbnail was missed
The editor opens from the temporary thumbnail. If it vanishes, repeat the side-button and volume-up shortcut. You can still find the ordinary screenshot in Photos, but the Full Page selection must be made in the screenshot editor.
Button and accessibility alternatives
If pressing two physical buttons is uncomfortable, Apple lists Siri, AssistiveTouch, and Back Tap as alternate screenshot methods. Their setup screens can vary by iOS release, so open the relevant option in the iPhone’s Settings and follow the on-screen instructions. Once an alternate method takes the screenshot, open its thumbnail and look for Full Page in the same editor.

Practical limits and reliability tips
- Compatibility: treat Full Page as an available capability, not a guarantee for every app or URL.
- Dynamic content: banners, live feeds, animations, and personalized sections can change while you capture them. Save promptly after reviewing the preview.
- Very long pages: inspect the whole preview before saving. Crop out unrelated sections to make the file easier to share.
- Privacy: Markup can cover account numbers or addresses, but a visual cover is not the same as securely removing data. Do not share a capture until you have checked every section.
- Storage: a long image or PDF can be substantially larger than a normal screenshot. If saving fails, free space and try again.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need automated screenshots of webpages rather than a one-off capture on your phone, ScreenshotNeo returns a screenshot or PDF from one GET request. It accepts cookie and consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be disabled. Bot checks, CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
See the full parameter reference in the ScreenshotNeo documentation. The following examples use the supplied API endpoint and can be run as written after replacing the key and target URL.
cURL
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Python
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
Node.js
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
ScreenshotNeo supports full-page capture, CSS-selector element capture, dark mode, device presets, custom viewports, retina scale, PDF paper and margin controls, page ranges, custom CSS and JavaScript, click-before-capture actions, hidden selectors, selector/delay/network-idle waits, request and resource blocking, headers, cookies, user agents, Authorization, timezone and geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, selectable cache TTLs, signed links, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture for up to 100 URLs per call, a usage API, and an OpenAPI specification. Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work, easing migration.

Troubleshooting checklist
The buttons open the power menu
You probably held the controls instead of quickly pressing and releasing them. Dismiss the menu and press the side and volume-up buttons together for a short, simultaneous click.

No thumbnail appears
Check that the screenshot was taken, then repeat the shortcut. If the display is locked, unlock it first. A thumbnail may also be hidden briefly by another full-screen interaction.
Full Page is visible but the result is short
Return to Safari, allow the page to finish loading, and capture again. Review the right-hand preview before saving; the capture follows the content iOS exposes as one scrollable page.
The saved file cannot be found
Look in Photos for an image capture and in the Files location selected by the save dialog for a PDF. If you used Safari’s PDF route, check the folder chosen under Save File To.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I take a full-page screenshot in every iPhone 14 app?
No. Apple documents the feature with Safari webpages and does not guarantee it for every app or webpage. The Full Page option must appear in the screenshot editor.
Does a full-page screenshot always save as an image?
Not necessarily. The editor can offer a PDF-to-Files save option, while Safari also has a separate webpage PDF export flow.
What if I cannot press the side and volume buttons together?
Apple lists Siri, AssistiveTouch, and Back Tap as alternative screenshot methods; configure one in Settings, then use the screenshot editor’s Full Page option when available.
The Bottom Line
On iPhone 14, use Safari, press the side and volume-up buttons together, tap the thumbnail, choose Full Page, review the preview, and save. Use Safari’s separate Share/Markup route when you need a conventional webpage PDF.
