There is no single full-page screenshot shortcut that works in every browser. In Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + S on Windows or Linux, or Command + Shift + S on macOS, then choose Save full page. In Chrome, use DevTools Device Mode and choose More options → Capture a full size screenshot. A full-page capture includes content beyond the visible browser window; opening a screenshot tool is not always enough—you may also need to choose its full-page option.
Firefox: use the shortcut, then choose Save full page
- Open the webpage you want to capture.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + S on Windows or Linux, or Command + Shift + S on macOS. Alternatively, right-click an empty area of the page and choose Take Screenshot.
- Choose Save full page to capture content beyond the visible viewport. Choose Save visible if you only want what is currently on screen.
- Download the image or copy it to the clipboard. While the screenshot interface is open, Mozilla also documents Ctrl/Command + S to save and Ctrl/Command + C to copy.
The shortcut opens Firefox’s screenshot interface; selecting Save full page is the step that captures the whole page. Mozilla Support’s page was last updated June 15, 2026.

Chrome: capture the full page through DevTools
- Open the page, then open Chrome DevTools.
- Activate Device Mode.
- Open the Device Mode More options menu and select Capture a full size screenshot.
This menu command captures the whole page, including content outside the viewport. The adjacent Capture screenshot command captures only the current viewport. Ctrl/Command + Shift + P opens the DevTools Command Menu; it is not itself a one-step full-page screenshot shortcut. Chrome for Developers’ instructions were last updated February 20, 2024.

Secondary reporting dated September 29, 2026 describes pressing Ctrl + Shift + S and choosing Capture full page. Because that route is not confirmed here by current Microsoft documentation, treat it as version-dependent: if the shortcut or label is absent, look for Screenshot in the browser menu and check the options shown by your installed version.

Safari on Mac: no verified desktop shortcut here
A desktop Safari full-page screenshot shortcut cannot be confirmed from the available Apple material. Do not assume the Firefox or Edge shortcut works in Safari. The Apple page consulted covers screenshots on iPhone, not a full-page capture workflow in Safari on Mac.
Why the shortcut may not capture the whole page
- You only got the visible area: choose Save full page in Firefox or Capture a full size screenshot in Chrome, rather than the visible-area command.
- The shortcut does nothing: confirm which browser and operating system you are using. Shortcuts vary by browser, and menus can change with version, locale, or managed-device policy.
- You are following an Edge or Safari instruction: verify the available Screenshot option in your own browser instead of assuming a reported shortcut is universal.
- Chrome’s command search opened: Ctrl/Command + Shift + P opens the DevTools Command Menu. Continue to the Device Mode More options menu for the full-size capture command.

FAQ
Does a full-page screenshot include content below the fold?
Yes. It captures page content beyond the portion currently visible in the browser window; a visible-area screenshot does not.
Do all browsers save full-page captures in the same format?
No universal output format or identical export behavior is established across these browser workflows. Firefox documents downloading or copying the capture; check the options shown by the browser you use.
