Yes—you can move your existing mobile number to Mint Mobile. The transfer, called a port, is requested during Mint’s activation process. To avoid a disconnected line, confirm that your phone is compatible and unlocked, collect your current carrier’s account number, transfer PIN and billing ZIP code, then keep the old service active until Mint confirms completion.
The practical sequence is: check eligibility and coverage, choose a physical SIM or eSIM, activate Mint, select Keep your current one, submit the requested carrier details, wait for confirmation, and only then replace the old SIM or cancel the former plan.

Can I keep my current phone number when switching to Mint?
Number portability is built into Mint’s activation flow. You do not request a new number first and then try to replace it. Instead, choose the option to keep your existing number while activating the Mint line. Mint then uses the information you provide to request the transfer from your current carrier.

The number must remain active with the old carrier while the request is processed. Canceling that account early can prevent the carrier from releasing the number or leave you without the information needed to correct a rejected request.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Mint runs on T-Mobile’s network, but actual service depends on your location, phone model, radio bands and local network conditions. Use Mint’s device compatibility and coverage checks for your exact handset and address rather than assuming that an unlocked phone will work everywhere.
What to check before you order
Confirm phone compatibility
Open Mint’s compatibility checker and enter the precise phone model or IMEI when requested. A phone that appears similar to another model may support different network bands or eSIM features. Complete the check before buying a plan or SIM so you know whether the handset can be brought over.
Confirm the phone is unlocked
An unlocked phone can accept service from another carrier. If your current carrier has placed a SIM or network lock on the device, Mint activation cannot remove it. Ask the current carrier to verify the lock status and explain its unlock requirements. Resolve the lock before starting the number transfer.

The screen passcode protects the handset; it does not authorize a number port.
Check coverage where you actually use the phone
Review Mint’s coverage map for home, work, commuting routes and other places where reliable service matters. Coverage maps are planning tools, not guarantees inside every building or at every address. If coverage is uncertain, test the locations that matter most before moving every line in a family account.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Back up information that depends on the old SIM
Save contacts, authenticator recovery codes and any voicemail messages stored only on the old carrier’s system. A number port moves the telephone number; it does not promise that old-carrier voicemail, account history or SIM-stored contacts will follow it.
Collect the information Mint needs from your current carrier
Retrieve the details before opening Mint’s activation screen. The exact PIN name and retrieval method vary by carrier, so use the carrier account portal or contact its support team. Do not guess, and do not substitute your device passcode.

| Item | What it means | Where to obtain it |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile number | The number you want to move | Your phone settings, bill or current carrier account |
| Account number | The billing account identifier, which may differ from the phone number | Current carrier bill or online account |
| Transfer PIN | A number-porting PIN, sometimes called a number-transfer PIN or port-out PIN | Current carrier account security page or carrier support |
| Billing ZIP code | The ZIP code attached to the current carrier’s billing address | Current bill or account profile |
| Current carrier name | The provider presently hosting the number | Your bill, account app or support contact |
Some carriers use a separate account PIN and number-transfer PIN. Ask specifically for the credential required to authorize a port. A wrong PIN or billing ZIP can cause a rejection even when the phone number and account number are correct.
Choose a physical SIM or eSIM
Mint supports two activation methods. Your phone’s hardware and software determine which is available; neither method is universally faster or better.
| Option | Device requirement | How you receive it | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physical SIM | A compatible phone with a physical SIM slot | Mint mails the SIM card | Phones without supported eSIM, or anyone who prefers a removable card |
| eSIM | A compatible, unlocked phone with eSIM support | Digital delivery through Mint’s app or setup flow | Eligible phones that can download a second carrier profile without waiting for a card |
Check eSIM compatibility separately from general network compatibility. If your phone cannot use eSIM, select the physical SIM option instead. Keep the old SIM available until Mint confirms that the number has moved.

How to transfer your number during Mint activation
- Purchase the Mint plan and select your SIM method. Choose physical SIM delivery or eSIM when the order and activation flow presents the choice. For eSIM, use the compatible unlocked phone that will host the line.
- Open Mint’s activation flow. Start in the Mint app or on Mint’s website using the instructions supplied with your plan or SIM. Have the current carrier information beside you so you do not need to abandon the form midway.
- Select the keep-number option. Choose Keep your current one rather than requesting a new number. This tells Mint to initiate a port as part of activation.
- Enter the number and billing ZIP. Type the existing mobile number and the ZIP code associated with the old carrier’s billing account. Check every digit before continuing.
- Identify the current carrier. Select the provider that currently serves the number. If the same company has separate brands or account systems, use the carrier name tied to the bill and account credentials.
- Submit the transfer credentials. Enter the account number and the PIN or number-transfer PIN requested by the form. Use the porting PIN supplied by the old carrier, not the handset passcode, voicemail PIN or a guessed value.
- Review the request before sending it. Verify the number, carrier, account number, PIN and ZIP. A single mismatch can delay the request and require a new submission.
- Complete Mint’s activation instructions. Follow the app or setup prompts for the selected SIM. Keep the old carrier’s service running while Mint processes the request.
When should you remove the old SIM or cancel the old plan?
Leave the existing service active until Mint confirms that activation and number transfer are complete. Mint’s number-transfer guidance also advises leaving the old SIM in the phone until that confirmation. This preserves the old line while any validation or correction is still needed.
After Mint confirms completion, insert the Mint physical SIM or finish the eSIM installation according to the activation prompts. Restart the phone if requested, then test an incoming call, an outgoing call, SMS and mobile data. Only after those checks should you cancel the previous plan. If you cancel first, you may lose service and make a failed port harder to repair.
How to move several lines without disrupting the account
For a family or business account, transfer lines one at a time rather than submitting every line simultaneously. Mint recommends moving the primary account-holder line last. The other lines can be activated first, leaving the account owner’s line available to receive security messages or carrier support calls while the remaining transfers are completed.
- Prepare account and transfer credentials for each line.
- Activate one non-primary line and wait for confirmation.
- Test calls, texts and data on that line before moving to the next.
- Repeat for the remaining secondary lines.
- Transfer the primary account-holder line last.
Keep each old line active until its own Mint activation is confirmed. A successful transfer of one number does not automatically complete the others.
What to do if the port is rejected or delayed
The account number is reported as invalid
Compare the value you entered with the current carrier’s bill and account portal. Some carriers display a billing account number that is different from the mobile number or device identifier. Ask the carrier which account number is used for port-outs, correct the Mint request and resubmit it while the old service remains active.

The PIN is rejected
Request a fresh number-transfer or port-out PIN from the current carrier and confirm its expiration period, if any. A regular account PIN may not authorize a port. Enter the new value exactly as issued and avoid adding spaces or punctuation unless the form requires them.
The billing ZIP does not match
Use the ZIP attached to the old carrier’s billing profile, not necessarily the ZIP where you currently use the phone. If you recently moved or changed the billing address, update or verify the old account first, then use the ZIP shown on the active account.
The phone shows no Mint service after activation
Confirm that the Mint SIM or eSIM profile is installed and selected for cellular service. Restart the phone, check that cellular data is enabled and verify that the device remains unlocked. If the compatibility check did not include the exact model or IMEI, repeat it before troubleshooting further.
Calls or texts still arrive on the old SIM
Keep the old SIM in place while Mint’s status remains pending. Once Mint confirms completion, install or enable the Mint SIM and restart the handset. If messages continue to route incorrectly after confirmation, contact Mint with the activation status and the number involved rather than canceling the former account immediately.
The old carrier canceled service unexpectedly
Contact both carriers promptly and explain that the number transfer is incomplete. Have the account number, transfer PIN, billing ZIP and any Mint confirmation details ready. Do not create a new line with a different number while asking support to restore the original port unless a representative tells you to do so.

How long does a Mint number transfer take?
Mint’s published guidance does not establish one completion time that applies to every carrier, account type or number. Do not rely on testimonials promising an instant transfer, and do not assume that a request will finish within a fixed number of minutes or hours. The safe operational rule is to keep the old service and SIM available until Mint explicitly confirms completion.
Transfer timing can also be affected by incorrect credentials, an account lock, an address mismatch, a pending carrier change or a phone that fails eligibility checks. A status that remains pending is a reason to verify the submitted details and contact support, not a reason to cancel the old plan.
Will you pay a porting fee?
The available Mint instructions explain the information and activation steps but do not establish a universal porting fee policy for every current plan or carrier. Check the terms displayed for your specific Mint order and the final bill from your former carrier. Do not treat a plan price or a promotional offer as evidence that every transfer-related charge is waived.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesSecurity precautions during the switch
- Retrieve transfer credentials through the current carrier’s authenticated account or official support channel.
- Do not post your account number, transfer PIN or billing details publicly.
- Check that you are entering information in the genuine Mint app or official Mint activation page.
- Keep recovery methods for email, banking and authentication services available while the number is in transition.
- After activation, review the old carrier account for remaining lines, device installments or automatic payments before closing it.
Post-activation checklist
Once Mint reports a completed transfer, run these checks before disposing of the old SIM or closing the former account:
Quick Recap
- Place an outgoing call and confirm the recipient sees the correct number.
- Call the number from another phone and confirm the Mint device rings.
- Send and receive SMS, including any verification message you routinely use.
- Test mobile data with Wi-Fi disabled.
- Check voicemail setup and record a new greeting if necessary.
- Verify that the Mint line is selected for calls, messages and data when the phone supports multiple SIMs.
- Confirm that important apps still use the expected number for account recovery.
- Only after these tests, cancel the old service and settle any remaining carrier obligations.
Key decisions at a glance
| Decision | Use this approach | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Keep the number or get a new one | Select Keep your current one during activation | Canceling the old line before the port completes |
| SIM type | Choose eSIM only when the unlocked phone supports it; otherwise use a physical SIM | Assuming every compatible phone supports eSIM |
| Port credentials | Use the current carrier’s account number, number-transfer PIN and billing ZIP | Using the phone passcode or guessing the PIN |
| Multiple lines | Move one line at a time and the primary account-holder line last | Moving all lines at once without individual confirmation |
| Completion decision | Wait for Mint’s confirmation, then test calls, texts and data | Judging success solely by delivery of a SIM or an order email |
