You can build a continuous Krishna bhajan program on YouTube by preparing the channel, choosing a live method, clearing every recording and performance, testing an unlisted stream, and setting up a way to monitor and recover it. “24/7” is the schedule you aim for—not a guarantee of uninterrupted uptime from YouTube or any encoder. Choose what your channel will broadcast
First decide whether the program is a live devotional gathering, live singing, or a continuous stream assembled from prerecorded bhajan recordings. The choice affects production and rights checks:
- Live performers or a gathering: Plan microphones, audio mixing, and a person who can monitor the room and broadcast. Confirm that the performers and any music being performed may be streamed.
- Prerecorded bhajans: Make a playlist or program from recordings you are authorized to use. Check the rights for each composition and each specific sound recording; permission for one does not necessarily cover the other.
YouTube’s guidance does not determine the rights status of any particular bhajan, performance, arrangement, or recording. Devotional, traditional, online, or previously uploaded does not automatically mean cleared.
Prepare the YouTube channel before the broadcast
- Enable live streaming and verify the channel at least 24 hours before your first planned broadcast. This is YouTube for Artists’ first-time activation guidance, not a general guarantee that a stream will start at a particular time. YouTube for Artists
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and choose its visibility. For rehearsal, use an unlisted test rather than the public broadcast. YouTube for Artists recommends testing before going live, especially when production investment is high.
- During the test, check the audio level and continuity, the video or visual loop, the title and description, and who will watch for alerts. Confirm the stream reaches YouTube before relying on the setup for a public program.
Set up an encoder-based stream
An encoder gives more production control than a simple mobile or webcam stream. YouTube’s production guide describes creating a live stream, preparing the encoder, and entering the stream key into it. Labels and controls can change, so follow the current YouTube Studio flow and your encoder’s own documentation. YouTube’s live encoder setup guide

- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and open its stream settings.
- Copy the stream key into the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a signal to your stream. Do not publish it or share it with people who do not need access.
- Configure the encoder for the ingest method it supports, then send a private or unlisted test. Confirm YouTube receives the expected picture and sound before switching to a public broadcast.
- Keep the encoder, network connection, and a monitoring device available throughout the broadcast. A stream key gets the encoder connected; it does not prevent power, internet, software, or rights-related interruptions.
YouTube publishes protocol-specific requirements for encoder implementations, including DASH and HLS. These documents are useful when choosing or configuring compatible encoder software or hardware; they are not certification that a particular consumer product can run unattended around the clock.
Clear the music and recordings before going live
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted material in another live broadcast. If detected content remains in a stream, YouTube may replace the picture with a placeholder, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. A bhajan may involve separate rights in the underlying composition and in a particular recording or arrangement. Obtain permissions or another valid legal basis for the exact material and intended use; YouTube’s terms require that you have the necessary rights for third-party intellectual property you submit. YouTube Terms of Service Keep permission records and check the permitted platforms, territories, duration, and live-stream use with the relevant rights holders. No general rule establishes that a particular song or recording is cleared for your channel.
YouTube says that even licensed third-party material can be interrupted if the rights holder has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. If you have a license, ask the rights holder or distributor about allowlisting the channel before the broadcast. Plan for interruptions rather than assuming 24/7 uptime
The official setup materials explain how to send a live signal, but they do not promise that a YouTube stream will remain uninterrupted indefinitely. Practical continuity means having someone check the broadcast and a recovery plan for likely failures.
- Monitor YouTube Studio and the actual public playback for warnings, missing audio, frozen video, or a dropped signal.
- Have a named person who can respond to encoder, power, or internet failure. If a stream stops, check the encoder and network, then reconnect using the stream setup in YouTube Studio.
- If YouTube interrupts the stream over detected content, check YouTube Studio for the issue and resolve the rights problem before restarting. Do not simply replay the same uncleared material.
