YouTube’s built-in webcam mode can start a stream without separate encoding software, but its documented workflow is for webcam streaming—not an unattended prerecorded loop. If you want the stream to continue after you turn off your computer, a cloud encoder is the more direct fit.

Get the channel ready for YouTube Live
- Verify the channel and enable live streaming. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours. YouTube’s general live-stream guidance also says streamers must be at least 16. Check the current YouTube live-stream requirements.
- Decide how to send the feed. For a cloud workflow, upload your recording or playlist and connect the service to YouTube through its supported authorization method or stream key. For hardware, copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio’s ingest details into the encoder, then schedule or play the prerecorded media using the device’s supported feature.
- Prepare the Live Control Room event. Set the title, description, privacy and chat settings. If you intend to promote the session, confirm the event details and viewing link before sharing them.
- Run a private or unlisted test. Check that the audio is clear and not clipping, the video is framed correctly, the loop transition is acceptable, and the viewer-facing title and description are accurate. Check chat and moderation settings too.
- Start and monitor the stream. Follow the encoder or cloud service’s start procedure and confirm the feed appears in YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder documentation describes starting and stopping the feed through the encoder and Live Control Room; do not assume a scheduled event starts the source feed by itself.

Use material you have the right to broadcast
Use a recording, background music, visuals and artwork you created or have permission to stream. A cloud service does not change the channel owner’s responsibility to follow YouTube’s copyright, Community Guidelines and monetization policies. YouTube’s encoder guidance covers connecting a feed, while a cloud vendor’s own guidance should be treated as that vendor’s statement about its service—not a guarantee of YouTube approval.
Make the prerecorded format clear
Describe the body scan as prerecorded in the title or description, or use an opening slate when appropriate. Do not imply that a recording is a live, interactive guided session. Keep wellness language within the actual scope of the recording; streaming mechanics do not establish that a body scan produces health outcomes.

Plan for long broadcasts and archives
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That is not a promise that one archive will cover an indefinite 24/7 broadcast. For a long-running channel, decide how broadcasts and archives will be rotated, and periodically confirm that the current YouTube workflow is behaving as expected. Troubleshooting common setup problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Check that the channel is verified, eligible for live streaming and past any first-time enablement wait. YouTube says initial enablement may take up to 24 hours.
- The encoder reports no connection: Recheck that you copied the current stream URL and stream key from the correct YouTube event, and that they were entered in the correct encoder fields. Do not share the stream key; replace it if it may have been exposed.
- The event is scheduled but viewers see no video: Confirm the source feed has been started in the encoder or cloud service and that YouTube Live Control Room shows an incoming feed. Scheduling the event and sending the video feed are separate parts of the workflow.
- The loop has an abrupt gap or restart: Review the source file’s ending and beginning, and check the service or hardware’s loop and restart settings. Test the transition before promoting the broadcast.
- The stream ends unexpectedly: Check the encoder or service’s connection status and YouTube Live Control Room. For an always-on cloud workflow, confirm what the provider says about reconnect behavior; vendor automation claims are not an independently verified uptime guarantee.
- Audio is missing, too quiet or distorted: Check the source file’s audio track, the encoder’s input selection and output level, then replay the test from a viewer’s perspective.
