Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →To run a prerecorded pranayama class playlist continuously on YouTube Live, use OBS Studio on a computer: add the recordings as a VLC Video source, arrange them in order, and enable Loop Playlist. Then connect OBS to a YouTube encoder stream using its server URL and stream key. The loop repeats the files; it does not keep the broadcast alive if the computer, OBS, or internet connection fails.
Before you start
- Check live-stream eligibility. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its general live-stream guidance sets the minimum age at 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable streaming in advance. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Prepare the recordings. Keep the class video files available locally on the computer that will run OBS. Confirm that you have the rights to every video, audio track, and other element included.
- Choose a reliable setup. The computer must be able to play your files and run OBS, and it must remain powered on and connected to the internet for the DIY broadcast to continue. The workflow does not require a camera. A microphone is only relevant if an instructor will speak live over the prerecorded class.
YouTube’s encoder documentation does not specify a separate India-only procedure. Mobile streaming has distinct eligibility conditions, but those should not be applied to the encoder workflow; India is listed among supported locations for mobile streaming. For this OBS method, follow the general encoder requirements rather than mobile subscriber thresholds. See YouTube’s mobile live-streaming requirements.

Set up the playlist in OBS
For several class videos
- Install OBS Studio and VLC on the computer. OBS’s VLC Video source depends on VLC being installed; if the source is missing, install VLC and reopen OBS.
- In OBS, select the scene where the video should appear. In the Sources box, click + and choose VLC Video.
- Give the source a name, then add the class recordings to its playlist in the order you want them to play. Review the order before going live.
- Enable Loop Playlist if the sequence should restart after the last video. Use shuffle only if the class order is intentionally flexible; a guided pranayama sequence will usually need a fixed order.
- Check that the video is visible in the OBS preview and that its audio is audible at a suitable level. If the recording already contains all instruction and music, a live microphone is not required.
For one recording only
Instead of VLC Video, add an OBS Media Source, select the file, and enable its Loop control. That repeats one file rather than cycling through a multi-file playlist. OBS documents both options in its Media Sources guide.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Open YouTube Studio and use the Live Control Room to create or schedule an encoder stream. If the stream is scheduled, check its event settings before connecting.
- Copy the current stream URL and stream key shown for that stream. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose the YouTube service if offered, and enter the credentials as directed by OBS. If using a custom server connection, enter the provided server URL and stream key in the corresponding fields.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Use the key for the intended channel and event, do not publish it, and replace it in OBS if it is exposed or reset in YouTube Studio.
- Start streaming in OBS ahead of the intended broadcast time. Wait for YouTube to receive the encoder signal, then inspect the Live Control Room preview and stream health before starting or announcing the public broadcast.
- Confirm the playlist is playing as expected, the picture is framed correctly, and audio is present. Keep OBS and YouTube Studio available so you can monitor audio and video during the broadcast.
YouTube recommends setting up encoder streams ahead of time, testing the workflow, checking the preview, and monitoring the stream while live. Its encoder setup guide explains the server URL and stream key workflow, and its live-streaming tips cover testing and monitoring.

Choose viewer and archive settings
Let viewers pause
YouTube’s DVR setting allows viewers to pause and resume a live stream. Decide whether that suits the class: it can help someone follow a breathing exercise at their own pace, but viewers may no longer be watching the same point as the live broadcast. Review DVR and related options in the stream settings; labels and availability can vary with the event configuration. See YouTube’s live-stream settings help.
Schedule when reminders matter
Scheduling can make a stream appear as upcoming and allow viewers to set reminders. Create the event early enough to share its watch page and verify that the scheduled stream is connected to the intended encoder.

Do not assume the recording will be archived
YouTube’s encoder help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Confirm current duration limits and archive settings in Studio before relying on a recording of the class; a continuous playlist that runs longer can exceed the stated automatic-archive window.

Clear rights before broadcasting
Having a copy of a recording does not automatically grant permission to rebroadcast it. Confirm rights for each class video, soundtrack, voice recording, and other included material for the territories and uses involved. YouTube’s terms place responsibility on the creator to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation of live content, including music rights; that platform statement is not a determination that a specific recording is cleared or a complete guide to Indian copyright law. See YouTube’s livestream terms.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it identifies material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even when you have a license, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for the stream to avoid interruption. Resolve this with the relevant rights owner before going live, rather than assuming a license alone will prevent an automated match. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Keep the DIY broadcast running
OBS repeats media; it does not provide a guarantee that the YouTube broadcast stays online. For a continuous stream using this method, the computer must remain on, OBS must keep running, the local files must stay available, and the network connection must hold. Power settings, operating-system updates, a disconnected drive, an OBS crash, or an internet outage can stop the broadcast. Test the full setup before relying on it, and monitor the YouTube preview and stream health while it is live.

Common problems and fixes
- VLC Video is not listed in OBS: Install VLC, then reopen OBS. Use Media Source if you only need to repeat one file.
- The playlist ends instead of restarting: Reopen the VLC Video source settings and check Loop Playlist. For a single Media Source, check its separate Loop option.
- YouTube shows no incoming video: Confirm OBS is streaming, the correct event’s server URL and stream key are entered, and the intended scene and video source are active. Check the Live Control Room preview before making the broadcast public.
- There is video but no sound: Check the file’s audio, OBS mixer levels and mute state, and the YouTube preview. If a live microphone is meant to be part of the class, confirm that its source is active and audible in OBS.
- The stream is interrupted or replaced: Check YouTube’s stream health and copyright notices. A Content ID match can interrupt a live stream; contact the rights owner about the required allowlisting if you have permission.
- The broadcast stops unexpectedly: Check whether the computer slept or restarted, OBS closed, the source file or drive became unavailable, or the network dropped. A playlist loop cannot recover a failed encoder or connection.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is an alternative when the aim is to keep prerecorded videos looping on YouTube without leaving a home computer running. Upload the class recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo runs it from the cloud and can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. It streams uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not broadcast a live camera feed.

Estimate the practical fit
For the DIY route, plan for a computer that can play the actual recordings while running OBS, stable power and internet, and time to test the entire playlist and encoder connection. YouTube and OBS sources cited here do not establish a specific minimum processor, RAM, graphics card, bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval for this class workflow; use YouTube’s current encoder guidance and the stream health feedback in Studio for the output you choose.
For a continuous prerecorded channel, also check how long the playlist runs, whether the sequence should restart in a fixed order, whether viewers should be able to pause, and whether you have permission for every audio and video element. These decisions affect both the viewer experience and the chance of a rights-related interruption.
