You can stream a prerecorded birds-and-rain ambience video to YouTube Live using an encoder: enable live streaming, create a stream in YouTube Studio, connect the stream key to your encoder, and start the feed. For a true 24/7 broadcast, the encoder must keep sending the video continuously; YouTube notes that first-time live streaming may take up to 24 hours to become available. Use footage and audio you own or have licensed, and do not rely on YouTube to archive a broadcast longer than 12 hours.
Choose how to keep the ambience stream running
There are two practical approaches for prerecorded ambience: run an encoder on a computer you control, or use a cloud streaming service. A local setup gives you direct control over the machine and any local recording, but it depends on that computer, its power and its internet connection staying available. A cloud service avoids keeping a home computer online; its terms, monitoring and recovery behavior should be checked with the provider. YouTube lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for continuous 24/7 streams from prerecorded video, but that listing is not a guarantee of uninterrupted uptime. Current prices and service performance are not established by YouTube’s setup guidance.
- For a do-it-yourself setup: use a local encoder and plan for continuous computer, power and network availability.
- For a cloud setup: upload prerecorded video to a service that can send it continuously to YouTube Live, and review its current features and terms before committing.
Prepare the video, audio and channel
Clear rights to both picture and sound
Use original birds footage and rain audio, or obtain permission covering the intended use, including a continuous livestream. Rights to the video do not automatically cover its soundtrack, and the reverse is also true. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match can replace the stream with a placeholder and may interrupt or terminate it. Even when you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Make the loop suitable for continuous playback
Prepare a finished video file and check that its picture and sound transition cleanly at the loop point. Listen for silence, abrupt volume changes, clicks or audio that ends before the picture. Keep a copy of the source file somewhere safe. If the visual or audio changes substantially over time, make those changes deliberate rather than relying on a single static image and a short loop repeated indefinitely.

Enable live streaming
- Open YouTube’s live streaming access guidance and complete the channel requirements shown there.
- Allow time for activation: YouTube says enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours.
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Follow YouTube’s current encoder setup flow at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Set up an encoder and go live
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio. In the Live Control Room, create or schedule the stream and select the encoder workflow. YouTube provides the stream connection details there.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into your encoder. The exact fields depend on the encoder you choose. A stream key acts like a password and address for sending the feed; do not post it, share it publicly or include it in a recording.
- Load the prepared ambience file or playlist. Configure the encoder or streaming service to repeat it continuously. Confirm that the intended audio track is selected and that playback does not stop after one pass.
- Check upload capacity before starting. YouTube recommends keeping total stream bitrate below available upload bandwidth, with 20% headroom. Account for both primary and backup bitrate if applicable, and remember that other people or devices sharing the connection can reduce capacity. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
- Preview before going public. Use the Live Control Room preview to check picture, audio, stream status and the watch page. Test playback on a phone as well as the device used for setup.
- Start the encoder, then monitor the broadcast. Confirm that YouTube receives the feed and that the public watch page plays it correctly. Keep an eye on sound and video rather than assuming a successful start means the full-day stream will remain healthy.
Plan for interruptions and recordings
Keep a local recording if the source matters
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, recommends keeping a local archive backup, and warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 broadcast should therefore not depend on YouTube to preserve the complete continuous stream as one archive. If you need a recording, use a separately managed local or other recording workflow and check that it has sufficient storage. Read YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.
Monitor the stream and recover deliberately
- Check the Live Control Room and watch page periodically for a lost feed, frozen picture or missing audio.
- If the stream stops, check the encoder’s connection and YouTube’s stream status before restarting. Avoid exposing or casually changing the stream key; use YouTube Studio’s controls if you need to replace it.
- For a local encoder, confirm that the computer has not slept, restarted or lost power, and that the network is still available.
- For a cloud service, consult its current instructions for monitoring and reconnecting. Do not assume a provider listing means guaranteed uptime or automatic recovery.
Can a birds-and-rain livestream earn money in India?
Possibly, but a continuous ambience stream is not automatically eligible for monetization. YouTube reviews channels against program requirements and monetization policies; reaching a subscriber or viewing threshold does not guarantee acceptance.

Earlier access to some YouTube Partner Program features
India is included in YouTube’s expanded Partner Program country list. The published entry thresholds are 500 subscribers, three valid public uploads in 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified public watch hours in the preceding 12 months or 3 million qualified public Shorts views in the preceding 90 days. This offers earlier access to certain fan-funding and Shopping features, subject to additional feature conditions; it is not the standard ad-revenue threshold. Standard ad-revenue eligibility
YouTube’s India-localized guidance states that standard ad-revenue eligibility requires 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the preceding 365 days or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the preceding 90 days. You must also meet other program and feature-specific conditions and pass YouTube’s review. The figures are thresholds, not a promise that a channel will be accepted. Repetitive ambience can be a policy risk
On July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed its “repetitious content” policy to “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content can be ineligible for monetization. Its policy says: “What’s important is that the substance of each video should be materially varied and deliver creative, educational, or other value.” Reusing one unchanged visual and audio loop across streams or uploads may therefore present a monetization risk; original rights-cleared material alone does not ensure eligibility.
