To stop your iPad from ringing for iPhone calls, open the iPhone’s Calls on Other Devices settings and either turn off Allow Calls on Other Devices entirely or deselect only the iPad. If calls still arrive on the iPad through Wi-Fi Calling, check the iPad’s Calls from iPhone setting in FaceTime.
Step 1: Change the setting on your iPhone
Calls on the iPad are relayed by the iPhone, which acts as the source device. The control that matters most is on the iPhone itself. Apple’s iPhone guide describes the process this way: “Tap Calls on Other Devices, turn on Allow Calls on Other Devices, then choose the devices you want to allow to make and receive calls.” (Apple Support: Use iPhone to allow calls and text messages on your iPad and Mac)

- On your iPhone, open Settings > Apps > Phone > Calls on Other Devices.
- Choose one of the two options below.
Option A: Stop relaying calls to every device
Turn off Allow Calls on Other Devices. This stops call relay to all other devices signed in to your Apple Account, including your Mac and any other iPad. Use this if you do not want any other device to ring for iPhone calls.
Option B: Stop only the iPad
Leave Allow Calls on Other Devices on and deselect only the iPad in the device list. Other devices you have selected keep receiving calls. This is the better choice if you use a Mac or another device for calls and only want the iPad silenced.

Step 2: Check the iPad’s FaceTime setting if calls still ring
If the iPad keeps ringing after Step 1, it may be receiving calls through Wi-Fi Calling rather than call relay. On the iPad, open Settings > Apps > FaceTime and find Calls from iPhone. Turn it off. Step 3: Review the Wi-Fi Calling device list
Wi-Fi Calling is a separate path. It lets devices on the same Wi-Fi network make and receive calls through your carrier, and it needs carrier support. Apple’s Wi-Fi Calling guide describes device-level controls on the iPhone, so review the list there if the iPad still rings. (Apple Support: Make a call with Wi-Fi Calling) Apple notes that carrier charges may apply, and Wi-Fi Calling is not available from all carriers, so availability depends on your plan and country.

Why the iPad rings and what affects the fix
Call relay depends on several conditions. Apple states that a device can make and receive relayed calls when it is near the iPhone, connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and signed in to the same Apple Account. If you change any of these, behavior may shift. A device that is off the same Wi-Fi network or signed in to a different account generally will not ring from the iPhone’s relay in the first place, but Wi-Fi Calling and FaceTime settings can still route calls to it, which is why Step 2 and Step 3 matter.

Troubleshooting checklist
- Confirm the iPad is signed in to the same Apple Account as the iPhone.
- Confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network if you expect relay to work.
- If calls stop on the iPad but you want them elsewhere, check the device list in Step 1 before turning anything off.
- If the iPad still rings after Steps 1 and 2, review the Wi-Fi Calling device list in Step 3.
