Ghosts Exposed is a seasonal GTA Online photo hunt: find the apparitions, photograph them with the in-game iFruit camera, then submit the pictures to Ghosts Exposed. Rockstar lists the 2026 event for October 1 through November 4 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Enhanced/Legacy, with new locations and rewards. The current update notes do not identify a specific phone menu, call, map marker, or prerequisite to launch it, so use the live event or challenge display in game for the current prompt.
How to start and complete Ghosts Exposed
- Enter GTA Online during the event period. Rockstar’s GTAV Title Update 1.73 Notes list the 2026 Halloween content from October 1 through November 4 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Enhanced/Legacy.
- Check the current in-game event or challenge display for the Ghosts Exposed prompt, live locations, and reward details. The update notes confirm the activity’s return but do not specify the exact start prompt or an eligibility prerequisite.
- Find an apparition in Southern San Andreas and photograph it using the iFruit camera.
- Submit the photograph to the Ghosts Exposed investigators through the activity’s in-game flow.
- Repeat for the remaining apparitions, then check the challenge display to see what is still outstanding and whether you have claimed the current reward.
Keep some distance when taking a picture: Rockstar warned in its 2023 event announcement that the spirits can disappear if players get too close. Its original description says submitted photos earn GTA$ and RP.

Where are the ghosts?
The current 2026 update confirms that Ghosts Exposed has new locations, but does not publish a location list. Older maps and walkthroughs may describe a prior year’s event, so they should not be treated as a verified guide to this year’s apparitions. Follow the live in-game event or challenge display for current locations.

What rewards do you get?
Rockstar’s October 12, 2023 announcement said that photographing all 10 ghosts earned the Albany Brigham’s Ghosts Exposed livery; it also described GTA$ and RP for submitted photos. Those are details of the original event, not confirmed 2026 terms. Rockstar’s 2026 update says the activity has new rewards but does not itemize them, so check the current in-game reward display rather than assuming the older count or livery still applies.

Do not confuse it with the Vinewood Undead Collection
Ghosts Exposed is the apparition photography activity. The Vinewood Undead Collection is a separate set of weekly challenges: Rockstar’s 2025 support article describes tasks involving Survival, Taxi Fare, and Adversary Mode. Those challenges are not the steps for starting Ghosts Exposed.
