Select the requested country or region, language, keyboard layout and time zone. Check the keyboard layout before entering passwords; the selected layout determines how key presses are interpreted. Accept the license terms when prompted.

Connect to the internet
Choose a Wi-Fi network and enter its password, or connect through wired internet if available. With a wired connection, the Wi-Fi prompt may not appear.

Pick an account or restore option
Depending on the Windows setup flow, you may be asked to sign in with a Microsoft account, create one or choose another displayed sign-in option. The flow may also offer to restore settings, OneDrive files or Microsoft Store apps from another device. Review the options shown on your screen; they are not identical in every configuration.

Create sign-in details and review privacy
If prompted, create a Windows Hello PIN and review the privacy settings. Setup may also present optional personalization, OneDrive, Office or Game Pass choices. These offers are separate from the essential task of completing Windows setup; select only what you want.

Update the laptop after reaching the desktop

On supported Samsung PCs, open Samsung Update and install the recommended available Samsung apps and drivers. Availability and menus depend on the model and Windows version. Samsung’s update guidance explains the supported-app process.

Use Windows Update if Samsung Update is unavailable
Samsung directs users to Windows Update when Samsung Update is not supported on their PC. Open Windows Settings, go to Windows Update, and check for available updates.
