A cloud PC can keep your encoder away from your home computer; it does not grant music rights, guarantee uninterrupted service, or ensure that a 24-hour broadcast will be archived as one complete video.
Before you set up the cloud PC, clear the music rights
Do not start with a playlist and assume that having access to the songs, or holding a license, is enough. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. It also warns that a licensed stream can still be interrupted if the rights holder has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist.

Check rights for the recordings and compositions
For every track, identify who controls the sound recording and the underlying composition, which territories your planned broadcast covers, and whether the permission covers a continuous YouTube live stream. Rights vary by catalogue and territory; no general platform guidance establishes which Indian entity controls a particular song or what permission it requires. Ask the relevant rights holders, label, or distributor, and get written confirmation. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music.
Ask about Content ID allowlisting
If you have permission to use third-party content, ask its owner to add your YouTube channel to the Content ID allowlist before you broadcast. Keep the confirmation and a track-by-track record of what you are allowed to use. A license and an allowlist address different problems: permission establishes your rights to use the music, while allowlisting can prevent the owner’s Content ID system from interrupting an authorized stream.

YouTube’s guidance on music coordination and live-stream matching is not a substitute for catalogue-specific clearance. Do not treat a successful test stream as proof that every track is cleared.
Make sure your YouTube channel can go live
YouTube’s stated eligibility requirements include a verified channel, no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and an account holder who is at least 16 years old. Check the channel’s status before scheduling a launch. YouTube for Artists advises first-time streamers to enable live streaming at least 24 hours before going live, so leave that lead time rather than planning activation and launch for the same day.

Choose and prepare a cloud PC for continuous encoding
Install OBS on a cloud PC that you can keep running, and verify that the provider’s terms allow your intended continuous use. The available guidance does not establish a particular cloud provider, regional availability, a universal VM specification, or a price suitable for every 24/7 stream.
Size the machine by testing your actual stream
OBS requirements depend on the encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity. A machine that meets a hardware checklist is not automatically capable of encoding your chosen stream reliably. Run OBS’s Auto Configuration Wizard as a starting point, then test the planned video and audio on the selected cloud host. Check that the encoder can sustain the chosen settings without overload and that the cloud machine’s network connection can keep sending the stream.

Set output values to match the stream you can sustain
There is no single bitrate, resolution, frame rate, or keyframe interval established here for every Indian-music stream or cloud PC. Choose the resolution and frame rate for the visual material you will actually send, and use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the corresponding output settings. Match the encoder configuration in OBS to the machine’s tested capacity; do not raise quality settings beyond what it can maintain. If the cloud PC cannot encode steadily, lower the output demands and test again before making the broadcast public.
Connect OBS to a YouTube encoder stream
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, create a live stream using the encoder workflow. For a planned launch, schedule it so you can check the incoming signal before the public start.
- Copy the connection details. Copy the stream server URL and stream key shown for that stream. In OBS, open the streaming service or connection settings and enter the YouTube server URL and key. YouTube supports RTMPS, its secure RTMP-over-SSL transport.
- Keep the stream key secret. Treat it as a credential: do not put it in a public playlist, screenshot, or shared document. If someone else obtains it, they may be able to send a stream to your channel. If it is exposed, replace or reset it through YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Start streaming in OBS and confirm that YouTube receives the video and audio in its Live Control Room. For a scheduled stream, wait for the encoder preview to arrive, check that it is the intended feed, and then select Go live in Live Control Room.
Test continuity before making the broadcast public
A 24/7 stream depends on more than the initial OBS connection. Before launch, test the exact playlist or visual loop, audio routing, cloud-session persistence, network stability, and what happens when OBS or the connection stops. Decide who will notice a failure and how they will restart the encoder. These are operating checks to perform on your chosen setup, not guarantees supplied by OBS or the cloud PC.

- Confirm the music and visual sequence plays as intended and that audio does not disappear or drift during a longer test.
- Check that the cloud PC stays available after you disconnect from its remote desktop session; do not assume that closing a remote window leaves every provider’s machine running.
- Arrange a way to monitor whether YouTube is receiving the stream, and a recovery procedure for a stopped encoder or lost connection.
- Test the restart procedure before launch. A restart may require checking the Live Control Room as well as restarting OBS.
Plan VOD archives separately from the live broadcast
YouTube’s encoder-stream guidance says that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not promise a complete archive for one continuous 24-hour-or-longer stream. If you need VODs, test a segmentation and restart schedule, then verify that the resulting segments appear and are usable before relying on them. Do not advertise one complete recording of a continuous 24/7 broadcast unless your own workflow has confirmed that outcome.

Google Cloud’s 24-hour channel-session wording applies to channels managed through its Live Stream API. It does not establish a 24-hour limit for an OBS encoder sending RTMPS from a cloud PC. Those are different workflows, so do not use the API limit as a reason to expect an OBS stream to stop at 24 hours—or as proof that a cloud-PC stream will never stop.

What a continuous Indian-music stream can and cannot promise
YouTube for Artists reported that, on average, over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is platform-wide context, not a prediction of audience size for an individual Indian music channel. Your own reach depends on the channel and its audience.
Rights clearance, channel eligibility, encoder capacity, connection recovery, and archive behavior are separate concerns. A cloud PC can host the encoder, but it cannot resolve a rights claim or establish how YouTube will archive a long-running broadcast.
