Open Source Summit India 2026 has passed: it was held June 16–17 at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre, and sponsorship opportunities for that event are closed. Who the summit was designed to bring together
The Linux Foundation’s 2026 prospectus characterized the audience as open-source practitioners, while the event’s call for proposals described a gathering of developers, technologists, and community leaders to collaborate, share information, solve problems, and learn. Listed subject areas included CI/CD and platform engineering, cloud infrastructure and orchestration, security, embedded platforms, Linux, and adjacent software topics. Evaluate fit against the particular community and technical program relevant to your organization.

The 2026 prospectus forecast 1,000 in-person attendees; that was an estimate, not a confirmed final count. For comparison, the prospectus reported 984 attendees from 323 organizations at the 2025 India summit. The cited materials do not explain the methodology behind either figure.

What the 2026 sponsorship packages offered

Speaking slots were not unrestricted promotional time. Content had to satisfy the call-for-proposals requirements and receive Linux Foundation and/or program committee approval; sales and marketing pitches were prohibited. The prospectus also stated that corporate members received a 5% sponsorship discount, or 7% when signing up for multiple events at once. Those are historical 2026 terms, not a current offer. The sponsor guide additionally described a 20% discount code for extra corporate passes in the 2026 program; its code and conditions should not be treated as current.
What sponsors needed to plan for in 2026
The 2026 event took place at Jio World Convention Centre, G Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra East, Mumbai. Its Solutions Showcase was in Lotus Ballroom 1. These details describe the completed event and should not be assumed for a future summit.
The sponsor guide’s operational checklist included confirming the sponsor logo and URL, checking the company listing, confirming use of tabletop space, reviewing shipping instructions, and registering staff. It listed June 10, 2026 as the deadline for international-shipment warehouse deliveries; that deadline has passed.
The guide also required sponsor branding and promotional materials to remain within booth areas, set conditions for sponsor-hosted events, and directed sponsors to follow the Linux Foundation Code of Conduct. For a later event, use its own sponsor guide and signed contract for the authoritative requirements and deadlines.

The 2026 prospectus said sponsoring Open Source Summit offered an opportunity to reach a diverse, multi-faceted audience of open-source practitioners in one place. That is the organizer’s promotional description of the opportunity, not a measured guarantee of leads, sales, or attendance outcomes. Consider whether the program and audience align with your organization’s goals before selecting a package.
