Take Exhibit Enigma at the Bracer Guild in Grancel, then follow the clues to General Morgan’s upstairs clock, the bird fountain, and Volume 15 at the Calvard Embassy. The final clue leads to a fight and the stolen item. Complete the request before visiting Grancel Castle: one walkthrough reports that doing so expires the quest.
Before you start: accept the request in Grancel
Visit the Bracer Guild in Grancel and accept Exhibit Enigma. The Nerd Stash guide says the request is available from the start of the assignment. Raider King classifies it as short timeframe and reports that it expires after you visit Grancel Castle, so accept and finish it before advancing there. That deadline, along with the reward below, is reported by Raider King rather than confirmed by an official quest source; if your game’s journal or localization differs, use the in-game information as your guide.

3. Choose Volume 15 at the Calvard Embassy
Speak with the guard to enter the Calvard Embassy, go upstairs, and select Volume 15 from the bookshelf. The clue refers to “the Blue Knight’s Resolve.” Both The Nerd Stash and Selphie1999Gaming identify Volume 15 as the book to inspect.
Prepare for the final encounter
The last clue leads to a combat encounter; you must defeat the enemies and retrieve the stolen item. The location is described differently by the walkthroughs: The Nerd Stash calls it a locked building on the northeastern side, while Selphie1999Gaming calls it the arena in the East Block. The available guides do not establish whether these descriptions refer to the same place. Follow the active quest marker rather than guessing from either description alone.

Expect a boss fight, and prepare before entering the final location. The guides do not provide enemy names, stats, or enough information to recommend a specific party or build. Saving before you go in is a sensible precaution, not a reported requirement.
Check whether the quest needs a Guild turn-in
After the battle, retrieve the item and check the active quest log. Selphie1999Gaming says opening the chest completes the request; The Nerd Stash says to return to the Bracer Guild and turn it in. Because the guides differ, return to the Guild if the request still appears active in your journal.
