Sign in to DIRECTV with the user ID and password for your DIRECTV account. On a computer, use DIRECTV’s website; on a phone, tablet, or compatible TV or streaming device, install and open the DIRECTV app. Some accounts may already use a myAT&T user ID, and DIRECTV may ask for a one-time security code after you enter your credentials.

Open DIRECTV’s website and choose the sign-in option.

Enter the user ID and password associated with your DIRECTV account. If you were assigned a myAT&T user ID when you signed up, use that rather than creating a separate DIRECTV login.

If DIRECTV requests a one-time code, choose the email address or phone number shown on the sign-in page and enter the code sent there.

For browser viewing, DIRECTV’s compatibility page currently recommends Chrome 143 or later, Edge 143 or later, and Safari 26. Browser requirements may change; check the current compatibility list if the site does not work in your browser. DIRECTV also provides online account-management instructions.
Sign in on a phone, tablet, or TV

Install the DIRECTV app from your device’s app store.

Open the app and sign in with your DIRECTV user ID and password. DIRECTV says the same user ID and password can be used for its app and online account.

If a security prompt appears, follow the instructions to receive and enter the one-time code.
DIRECTV requires an internet-connected, compatible device, a DIRECTV account, and the app installed from the device’s store. Supported devices and software versions vary; check DIRECTV’s compatibility page for the current list before troubleshooting a device that cannot install or run the app.
App availability and programming depend on your device, account type, and package. DIRECTV says streaming is available in the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Playback on TVs and some third-party devices may be restricted to the home Wi-Fi network. See DIRECTV’s app instructions and app viewing details for current conditions.

Use the account login you already have
You may not need to create a separate online account. DIRECTV says customers who were assigned a myAT&T user ID when they signed up can use it to sign in. Other customers can create an online account by selecting their service type in DIRECTV’s account-management flow. The sign-in credentials are shared with the DIRECTV app.

DIRECTV treats user ID retrieval and password reset as separate recovery steps. Start at the sign-in page and choose the option that matches what you have forgotten:

Forgot the user ID: Choose “Forgot email or user ID?” and enter the email address or account number requested. DIRECTV sends the user ID by email.

Forgot the password: Choose “Forgot Password,” enter your user ID and last name, and follow the email instructions to set a new password using the temporary password.
DIRECTV warns that “Temporary passwords cannot be used to sign in at directv.com.” Follow the reset instructions to establish a new password instead of trying to use the temporary password on the website. See DIRECTV’s user ID and password help.
Why DIRECTV asks for a one-time code
After you enter your username and password, DIRECTV may send a one-time code to the email address or phone number on file to verify the sign-in. Use the contact method presented on the official sign-in page, then enter the code there. DIRECTV describes this as an account-security step in its viewing and security guidance.
If you still cannot sign in

Confirm that you are using the credentials for the DIRECTV account, including a myAT&T user ID if one was assigned.

Use “Forgot email or user ID?” if you do not know the user ID, or “Forgot Password” if you cannot recall the password.

Check the email or phone option shown on the sign-in page and enter the one-time code if prompted.

If the app opens but malfunctions, check for app and device-software updates, restart the app or device, and reinstall the app if needed. DIRECTV lists these steps in its support guidance.
If sign-in succeeds but a TV stream will not play, the issue may be a compatibility, account, package, location, or home-network restriction rather than an incorrect password. Consult DIRECTV’s current viewing details and compatibility information.
