In the Widgets section, add available widgets, reorder them, and turn Widgets on. Only widgets that support the small size can be placed there.
Set up widgets on the lock screen

Under Widgets, review the widgets already listed. Drag a widget to change its position and reading order.

Select Add widget and choose an item from the catalog shown on your PC. The catalog lists the widgets currently available to that system; only widgets that support the small size are eligible for lock-screen placement.

To remove or adjust an individual item, open its more-options menu. Customization depends on whether that widget’s provider supports it.

To hide all lock-screen widgets, switch the Widgets toggle off.

Which widgets appear in Windows 11 25H2?
Availability depends on the device’s update state and the catalog in its Lock screen settings. Microsoft’s August 27, 2026 preview servicing note for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2 says Weather is the only widget shown by default, while other eligible widgets can be added from Settings. Check Settings > Windows Update for available updates, then return to the Lock screen settings page.

Open Add widget and use the catalog on your own PC as the definitive list of currently available choices. Gradual rollout means Windows 11 25H2 devices may not show identical options at the same time.

Location and widget privacy
Widget content can use estimated location from Windows Location services, or, if location services are unavailable, the internet connection’s IP address. Microsoft also notes that individual widgets and dashboards may collect data. Review the privacy information for the specific widget or provider you choose. Microsoft’s Widgets guidance
