Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsShare drone-captured construction progress as a dated, repeatable record in a project portal or shared workspace—not as a stream of unlabelled image attachments. Agree on what the update must help stakeholders decide, capture comparable views, choose formats that answer that question, add concise context, and preserve earlier visits for comparison. Aerial imagery can show visible conditions and changes; it does not automatically establish quantities, contractual completion, compliance, or survey accuracy.
Start with the decision the update needs to support
Before planning a flight or choosing a platform, identify what remote reviewers need to understand: overall visible progress, earthwork, a milestone, comparison with a plan, or site conditions for a project meeting. Construction drone outputs can include photos, video, orthophotos, 3D models, and point clouds. The Inter-American Development Bank describes uses including progress monitoring, checking work against plans and schedules, and documenting work status (IDB report).

Match each output to the question. Photos and short video communicate visible conditions. An orthophoto or plan overlay can make site-wide layout easier to review. A 3D model or point cloud may help stakeholders visualize the site or compare conditions. Not every project needs every format; use the simplest set that lets the audience review the intended issue.
Agree on the audience, scope, and sharing location
Identify who will receive the update—such as owners, project managers, contractors, investors, or internal teams—and whether distribution should be internal, limited to project stakeholders, or public-facing. Confirm intended recipients and any contractual, site, or privacy restrictions with the project owner before publishing imagery. Public availability of a page is not the same thing as permission to share every image.

Choose a stable project portal or shared cloud workspace as the home for the record. Keep a clear entry point to the latest visit, a chronological history, the key images or maps, and links to the full files. Preserve prior visits so readers can compare changes instead of relying on isolated messages and attachments. Propeller describes a cloud platform that keeps site data together and presents a visual timeline (Propeller platform); this is an example of a platform approach, not a comparative product ranking.
Set a cadence and make visits comparable
Capture a baseline, then choose recurring or milestone-based visits according to the rate of site change and the reporting schedule. A documentation provider lists one-time baseline, milestone, monthly, twice-monthly, and weekly options, and suggests monthly capture for general progress and more frequent visits for fast-changing sites or regular reporting (Chattanooga Drone Works). Those are provider examples, not a universal standard: agree on a schedule that produces useful updates without collecting redundant material.

- Ergonomically Designed: Work in tight areas with a compact design that gets into tough spots
- Compact and Lightweight: Both tools are designed to fit into difficult to reach spaces. The 1/4" impact driver has a length of 5.55 in. and weighs just 2.8 lbs, while the 1/2" drill/driver measures only 7.5 in. and weighs 3.6 lbs
- Both the DEWALT impact driver and electric drill driver feature integrated LED work lights with a convenient 20-second delay, ensuring enhanced visibility in dimly lit or challenging work areas
- One-Handed Loading - Keep one hand free with a 1/4 in. hex chuck that accepts 1 in. bit tips
- Power drill cordless with 1/2" single sleeve ratcheting chuck provides tight bit gripping strength, making bit changes faster and more secure
For meaningful comparison, agree in advance on recurring flight areas, camera viewpoints, map extents, and file naming. Record the capture date and site area, and note any change to the method that might affect comparison. Repeatable viewpoints and dated delivery are specifically described as aids to comparison by the provider. The available sources do not define a universal technical standard for flight paths, altitude, image overlap, ground control, or accuracy; establish those requirements with qualified project and surveying professionals when the intended use calls for them.
Capture and prepare a useful update
- Plan the visit: Confirm the site area, objective, intended outputs, access, weather, people and equipment on site, PPE and site rules, and project risks. Check applicable aviation and airspace requirements before operating.
- Capture the agreed coverage: Use the repeatable viewpoints and site coverage in the plan. If a view or area cannot be captured, record that limitation rather than implying complete coverage.
- Select the outputs: Use a small, relevant set of photos or video for visible conditions. Add an orthophoto, site-plan overlay, panorama, 3D model, or point cloud when it materially improves understanding of layout or change.
- Label and contextualize: File material under the visit date and project phase. Add a concise note on what changed, identify the orientation or legend where needed, and state the comparison baseline or overlay used.
- Publish and archive: Put the latest visit where recipients can find it, retain earlier dated visits, and link to the full files or reports from the project’s main review page.
A useful update lets a reader quickly answer: when was this captured, what part of the site is shown, what is being compared, and what should not be inferred from the imagery?

Keep the record in its proper accuracy and legal context
A dated visual record can help a team discuss visible site conditions and change, but an image alone does not prove contractual completion, quantities, compliance, or survey measurements. The IDB report describes construction monitoring and plan-comparison applications, but it does not support a blanket claim that drone imagery is accurate enough for every measurement or engineering purpose.
Providers also distinguish visualization and progress documentation from survey-grade work. Chattanooga Drone Works says its mapping and boundary-style visuals are for documentation, planning support, and visualization unless a licensed surveyor is involved (provider guidance). National Drone Services says its portal outputs are for visualization, documentation, and progress monitoring, not survey-grade work or engineering, legal, or ground-control use (National Drone Services). These statements describe those providers’ services; they are not a universal specification for all drone deliverables. If stakeholders need survey, engineering, contractual, or legal evidence, define the required deliverable and validation with the appropriately qualified professional.

Check aviation, site, and privacy requirements
Requirements depend on the actual location and operation. In the United States, the FAA says it has exclusive authority over aviation safety and efficient use of airspace, while state and local governments may generally address matters such as privacy, photography or imaging, trespass, and land use when those rules do not conflict with federal aviation authority. See the FAA’s Aeronautical Information Publication, ENR 8.4.

For U.S. operations, review current FAA rules and airspace requirements, along with applicable state, local, property, and site requirements. The FAA policy library links to Part 107 rules and advisory guidance, privacy best practices, and state and local regulation material; its page reports a last update of August 5, 2025 (FAA UAS policy library). Requirements can change, so consult current underlying rules for the operation rather than treating a general workflow as legal or aviation advice.

Choose a delivery approach that fits the team
The workflow can be handled in-house, through a platform, or with a documentation provider. These are different operating approaches, not a substantiated head-to-head ranking.
| Approach | Best fit to consider | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| In-house capture and processing | A team that can conduct recurring capture and prepare the files and context stakeholders need. | Operator qualifications, site procedures, repeatability, processing workflow, and who maintains the archive. |
| Cloud platform | A team that needs a central place to organize site data, track progress, and share a timeline. | Current feature set, pricing, access controls, retention, data residency, and integrations directly with the vendor. |
| Professional documentation service | A team that wants a provider to capture and prepare imagery, maps, overlays, reports, or portal material. | Service area, qualifications, scope, deliverable limitations, access arrangements, and current terms. |
Across approaches, compare the deliverables, dated history and repeatability, intended audience and sharing, accuracy and intended use, and operational fit. The sources do not establish current vendor pricing, security certifications, detailed permission controls, retention policies, data residency, or integrations; ask the provider and project stakeholders directly before procurement.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server by Yorker Media. It can capture a project portal page as an image or PDF, but it does not fly a drone, create a survey, or replace a construction progress platform. If you already have a portal view to share, one GET request returns a screenshot; the API supports PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF output. See the ScreenshotNeo website and API documentation for setup and options.
