To share a Google Maps route, enter the start and destination, select the route you want, then use Share on a computer or More → Share directions in the mobile app. The recipient can open the directions, but the link does not guarantee that both devices will show an identical route or navigation experience.

If Google Maps shows alternatives, select the route you want to share. Google’s desktop directions instructions describe the available sharing options.

Will the recipient get the exact same route?
The link shares directions for the recipient to open; it is not a promise that both people will see a permanently locked route or identical turn-by-turn navigation. Google documents route selection and notes that some directions have limited availability, but its help pages do not guarantee that a route will remain identical across devices or over time. Traffic, location, travel mode, and available routes can affect what appears.

If the exact endpoints matter, include the origin and destination in your message as a fallback.
Route sharing is different from sending directions to your own phone
Share directions sends route directions to another person. Send to phone is a separate desktop feature for sending searched directions to one of your own devices. Google says that the devices must use the same account and that this desktop option does not support multiple destinations. See Google’s directions help for the desktop options and its mobile help for app sharing.

Can you share a route with multiple stops?
Google’s desktop directions help says a route can have up to nine stops, counting the final destination, and that stops can be reordered. The documented restriction that Send to phone does not work with multiple destinations applies to sending directions to your own device; it does not establish that route-link sharing has the same restriction.
