To send Soulmask server alerts to Discord, create a webhook in the Discord channel that should receive messages, then paste that webhook URL into the server host’s Service Settings. Enable Discord messages, enter the URL in Discord Webhook URL, and select Execute. Start/stop notices are documented, while scheduled restart and scheduled update notices appear only when the matching scheduled tasks are configured.

What the integration does
A Discord webhook gives a Soulmask server permission to post into one Discord channel. The channel is selected when you create the webhook; Soulmask then uses the URL you save in the hosting panel to publish operational messages there.

The exact message wording and timing are controlled by the hosting panel. A webhook by itself does not create a restart or update schedule; it only gives those tasks a destination for their alerts.
What you need before starting
- Administrative access to the Discord server and permission to edit the destination channel.
- Access to the Soulmask hosting panel’s Service Settings.
- A decision about which channel should receive server operations. A private staff channel is usually more appropriate than a general player-chat channel because start, stop, restart, and update events can be frequent.
- A plan for scheduled tasks if you want restart or update notifications. Start/stop messages do not require those schedules.
Decide on the channel first. A Discord webhook belongs to the channel where it is created, so moving the URL to Soulmask later will not redirect messages to a different channel. Create another webhook if you need alerts in another channel.

1. Open the target channel’s integration settings
- In Discord, open the server that should receive the alerts.
- Open the target text channel’s menu and choose Edit Channel.
- Select Integrations.
You need to work in the specific channel, not only at the server level. The channel selected here is where Soulmask will post.
2. Create the webhook
- In Integrations, choose Create Webhook.
- Set a descriptive name and avatar if you want one. For example, identify the instance or environment rather than using a generic name.
- Choose Copy Webhook URL and retain the copied value temporarily.
- Save the channel changes in Discord.
The URL is a credential. Anyone who obtains it can post in that channel, as GTXGaming’s setup guidance warns. Do not paste it into a public chat, commit it to a repository, include it in a screenshot, or share it in a support ticket unless the recipient is trusted and the URL will be rotated afterward.

3. Save the URL in the Soulmask hosting panel
- Sign in to the panel that manages your Soulmask server.
- Open Service Settings.
- Enable the editable Discord messages option.
- Paste the copied value into Discord Webhook URL.
- Select Execute to apply the change.
Make sure you paste the complete URL as copied. Do not add quotation marks, spaces, Markdown, or explanatory text. The panel’s editable Discord messages setting is the switch that enables the integration; entering a URL without enabling that option will not produce alerts.
4. Configure scheduled alerts, if required
Open the panel’s task or scheduling area and configure the restart or update task you actually want to run. The corresponding Discord notice depends on that task:

- A scheduled restart message requires a scheduled restart task.
- A scheduled update message requires a scheduled update task.
- Start/stop messages are documented independently of those two schedules.
Record the schedule and time zone used by the panel so staff know when to expect a warning or completion message. The available evidence establishes that these task types generate notifications, but it does not specify a universal lead time, message format, or time-zone behavior; those details can vary by host panel.
How to confirm the right event is being monitored
There is no player-side toggle for these alerts. Verification should therefore follow the event you configured rather than relying on an in-game chat command.

- Check that the webhook still appears under the Discord channel’s Integrations screen.
- Confirm that Discord messages remains enabled in Soulmask Service Settings and that the URL is present.
- For a lifecycle notice, observe the next documented server start or stop event.
- For a restart or update notice, check that the matching scheduled task is present and enabled, then observe its next run.
- If the event occurs without a post, follow the troubleshooting checks below before recreating the entire server.
A successful start or stop post confirms the webhook path. It does not prove that scheduled restart and update tasks are configured; those must be checked separately.
Webhook security, rotation, and removal
Protect the URL
Treat the webhook URL as you would a service password. Access to it is sufficient to publish in the connected channel. Restrict access to the Discord channel, keep the URL out of public documentation, and avoid copying it into scripts or configuration examples that other people can read.
Rotate a leaked URL
- In Discord, open the channel’s Edit Channel screen and then Integrations.
- Delete the exposed webhook or create a replacement webhook.
- Copy the replacement URL.
- Return to Soulmask Service Settings, replace the value in Discord Webhook URL, and select Execute.
Updating Discord alone is not enough: Soulmask must receive the replacement URL before it can post again.
Disable notifications
You can stop delivery in either system. In Soulmask, remove the URL from Service Settings and select Execute. Alternatively, delete the webhook from the Discord channel’s Integrations menu. Removing it in Discord invalidates the destination even if the old URL remains in the panel, so clear the panel value as well when decommissioning the integration.

Choosing a hosting and automation approach
The webhook procedure is the same conceptually, but the amount of server administration differs by deployment method. Use the option that matches your operating system, backup expectations, and willingness to maintain the machine.

Managed hosting panel
This is the shortest path when your priority is reliable setup rather than operating-system control. The documented labels—Service Settings, Discord messages, Discord Webhook URL, and Execute—put the integration in one place. You still need to create scheduled tasks separately if you want restart or update alerts.
SoulMask Server Manager on Windows
The project README describes a Windows manager that installs the server through SteamCMD, handles multiple instances, creates backups, schedules restarts with broadcast warnings, and posts server start/stop events and restart warnings to Discord. This can be useful when you want local control and a graphical management layer instead of a hosted panel. Its documented Discord scope should not be assumed to include every event available in a managed host; verify which task produces each message in your configuration.
Container deployment
An unofficial container deployment exposes the game and query UDP ports and keeps server data under /home/steam/soulmask. Those details matter for availability and persistence, but the container does not replace the webhook workflow. You still need an application, script, or management panel that knows the Discord webhook URL and decides when to post. If the persistent path is not mounted correctly, rebuilding or replacing the container can remove the server’s expected data even though Discord connectivity is configured correctly.
Manual Linux launch
A community Linux guide shows a launch configuration using -SteamServerName, -MaxPlayers, -PSW, -adminpsw, -MULTIHOME, -Port, -QueryPort, and -EchoPort. The guide is useful when diagnosing a self-hosted instance before adding automation. Because executable paths and values depend on the machine, do not copy a command with guessed values. First make sure the server launches with the intended name, player limit, passwords, bind address, game port, query port, and echo port; then attach webhook automation through your chosen service manager or script.

Troubleshooting: why Soulmask is not posting

Separate delivery failures from server failures. If the Soulmask process is not starting, a correct webhook cannot generate a start notice. Conversely, if the server starts and the channel remains silent, focus on the webhook URL, the Discord integration, and the panel’s saved setting.
Operational practices for multiple servers
- Use a distinct Discord channel or clearly named webhook for each production, test, or community instance so operators can identify the source immediately.
- Document which scheduled task is responsible for restart and update notices. This avoids assuming that one schedule covers both event types.
- Keep the webhook URL in a restricted password manager or deployment secret store rather than in a public guide.
- When transferring ownership or changing staff access, rotate the webhook instead of forwarding the old URL.
- For self-hosted deployments, treat Discord as an alert destination, not as a substitute for process supervision, port configuration, backups, or persistent storage.
A GameServerKings guide updated September 28, 2026, and the SoulMask Server Manager README describe the same practical distinction: Discord can report operational events, but the server manager or hosting environment still has to start the service, run schedules, and maintain data.
Bottom line
Create the webhook in the exact Discord channel that should receive alerts, copy it, enable Discord messages in Soulmask Service Settings, paste the value into Discord Webhook URL, and select Execute. Start/stop notices are part of the documented integration; scheduled restart and update notices require their respective tasks. Protect the URL, rotate it if exposed, and troubleshoot the underlying server separately from Discord delivery.
