To send Coolify alerts to Discord, create an incoming webhook in the target Discord text channel, paste its URL into Coolify’s Discord notification channel, enable that channel, select at least one notification event, and send a test. The test should appear in the selected channel before you rely on production alerts.

What you need before starting
This integration connects one Coolify notification channel to one Discord text channel through a Discord incoming webhook URL. Prepare the following:

- Access to the Discord server and the text channel where alerts should appear.
- Permission to manage webhooks in that Discord server. The account creating the webhook must have this permission.
- Permission in Coolify to update notification settings for the current team.
- A decision about which Coolify events belong in this channel. Credentials alone do not activate notifications; at least one event must be selected.
A dedicated channel such as coolify-notifications keeps deployment and infrastructure messages separate from general conversation. You can use an existing channel or create a new text channel first.
1. Create the Discord incoming webhook
- Open the Discord server that should receive Coolify alerts.
- Open Server Settings.
- Select Integrations, then Webhooks.
- Select New Webhook.
- Give the webhook a recognizable name, such as
Coolify. - Choose the destination text channel. Verify the channel name carefully; Coolify will deliver to this channel, not to whichever channel you happen to be viewing later.
- Select Copy Webhook URL and keep the value available for the Coolify step.
The URL is the connection credential for this channel. Treat it like a password while moving it between Discord and Coolify; do not post it in chat, tickets, screenshots, or public repositories.

2. Add the webhook to Coolify
- Sign in to Coolify and open the team whose notifications you want to configure.
- Open Notifications.
- Select Discord to create or edit the Discord notification channel.
- Paste the copied Discord value into the Webhook field.
- Select Save.
- Turn on Enabled.
Save the URL before enabling the channel. If you recreate a Discord webhook later, its token may change, so the old value saved in Coolify will no longer be sufficient.
Coolify stores these notification settings for the current team. A member without permission to update team notification settings may be able to view the page but cannot successfully change the channel. The same permission model applies when sending a test notification.

In the Discord channel configuration, find Notification Settings and select the events that should be delivered to this channel. Event selections are independent for each notification channel: enabling an event on another channel does not enable it here.
Coolify groups the available choices by operational scope. Use the table to choose a useful signal-to-noise level rather than enabling every success message by default.

Choose events by urgency
Start with events that require a response: deployment failure, restart-limit reached, backup failure, scheduled-task failure, disk-usage warning, and server unreachable. Add success events when an operator needs an explicit audit trail, such as confirming backups or patching.

Choose events by scope
Keep application deployment alerts with the development team, backup alerts with the data or operations owners, and server events with infrastructure operators. A single channel can receive all scopes, but separating audiences makes it easier to notice the alerts that require action.

If a service deploys often, every deployment-success message can obscure failures. A practical first configuration is failure and outage events only, followed by success events for processes where completion itself is significant. You can change the event selection later without creating a new webhook.
4. Decide whether to enable pings
Ping Enabled can add @here to critical event notifications. Discord only notifies members who are online and who can access the channel, so this is not a guarantee that every team member will see an alert.
Use pings sparingly. They are appropriate for a private operations channel where an outage needs immediate attention, but they can become disruptive if applied to routine deployment or backup-success messages. Event selection still controls which messages are generated; Ping Enabled changes how critical notifications are addressed.
5. Send and verify a test notification
- After saving the webhook and enabling the channel, select Send Test Notification in the Coolify Discord notification settings.
- Open the exact Discord text channel selected on the webhook.
- Confirm that the test message appears there.
- If the message arrives, leave the channel enabled and review the event selections once more before putting it into regular operations.
The test checks the current channel credentials and delivery path. It does not exercise every event-specific trigger, so a successful test proves that Coolify can post through the saved webhook, not that every deployment, backup, scheduled-task, or server condition will occur and notify as intended.

How to use the test result
The test appears in the expected channel
The webhook URL is valid for that destination and Coolify can reach the configured Discord channel. Your next check is event coverage: verify that at least one event is selected under this channel’s Notification Settings, and that the selected event matches the activity you expect to monitor.
The test appears in a different channel
The webhook is still associated with the channel chosen in Discord when it was created. Return to Discord’s webhook settings and inspect the destination channel. Change it there if necessary, then copy the current URL and save that value in Coolify.
The test does not appear at all
Use the troubleshooting sequence below rather than changing several settings at once. The goal is to establish whether the problem is an invalid or replaced webhook, a destination mismatch, a missing channel, or a permission issue.
Troubleshoot a missing Coolify Discord notification
1. Confirm that the webhook still exists
In Discord, open Server Settings > Integrations > Webhooks. Confirm that the webhook named for Coolify is present. If it was deleted, create a replacement and copy its new URL.

2. Confirm the destination channel
Inspect the webhook’s selected channel and compare it with the channel you are viewing. Also verify that the Discord channel itself still exists. A webhook can remain in the server settings while pointing somewhere other than the channel you expected.

3. Check that the webhook can post
Review the webhook and channel configuration in Discord. The webhook must still be allowed to post to its selected channel. Changes to channel access or server configuration can prevent delivery even when the URL has not changed.
4. Replace a stale URL
If the webhook was recreated, its token may have changed. Copy the newly displayed URL, replace the value in Coolify’s Webhook field, select Save, confirm Enabled is on, and send another test.
5. Check Coolify permissions
Notification settings belong to the current team. Make sure your Coolify account has permission to update notification settings and to send a test notification. If you cannot save or test, ask a team member with the corresponding permission to perform the change.
6. Check event selection after a successful test
A working test does not automatically subscribe the channel to production events. Return to Notification Settings and select at least one event. Remember that selections on a different notification channel do not carry over to this Discord channel.

Coolify’s guidance is explicit: “Anyone with the URL can post to the Discord channel.” Keep the URL in a password manager or another access-controlled secret store, and limit who can view the Coolify notification settings.
- Do not paste the URL into a public issue, commit, documentation page, or chat room.
- Do not include the full URL in screenshots or screen recordings.
- If the URL is exposed, open the webhook in Discord, replace or recreate it, copy the new URL, and update Coolify immediately.
- After rotation, save the new value, confirm the channel is enabled, and send a test notification.
Rotating the webhook changes the channel credential; it does not remove the need to review the event selections in Coolify.
Recommended channel designs
Private operations channel
Use a restricted text channel for server reachable or unreachable, disk-usage warnings, Docker cleanup failures, patching, outdated Traefik detection, backup failures, and restart-limit alerts. Add @here only when the team has agreed that those conditions justify an immediate ping.
Development deployment channel
Use a channel visible to the developers responsible for releases. Begin with deployment failure, resource status changes, and restart-limit reached. Add deployment success when the team needs a visible release record and can tolerate the additional messages.
Audit-oriented channel
If you need a chronological record rather than urgent paging, include success events for deployments, backups, scheduled tasks, and server patching but leave Ping Enabled off. Keep access limited to the people who need the history.
These are organizational patterns, not additional Coolify modes. Each pattern still uses the same webhook creation, channel configuration, event selection, and test process.

- The Discord account creating the webhook can manage webhooks in the server.
- The webhook was created under Server Settings > Integrations > Webhooks.
- The webhook points to the intended text channel.
- The URL was copied from Discord and pasted into Coolify’s Webhook field.
- The value was saved before testing.
- Enabled is turned on.
- At least one event is selected under this channel’s Notification Settings.
- Ping Enabled is set according to the channel’s urgency and audience.
- Send Test Notification produced a message in the selected Discord channel.
- The URL is stored securely and will be replaced if exposed or regenerated.
What a correct configuration looks like
A complete setup has four independent pieces: a Discord webhook that still exists, a destination channel that is correct and able to receive posts, a saved and enabled Discord channel in Coolify, and one or more selected notification events. The test validates the saved delivery path; the event selections determine which real Coolify activities produce messages. Keeping those pieces separate makes both initial setup and troubleshooting predictable.
