To show recent follows, subscriptions, tips, and other activity on your stream, configure an Event List with a provider such as Streamlabs, then add it to your streaming software. Use the direct Event List source in Streamlabs Desktop, the Streamlabs widget in OBS with its plugin, or the provider’s widget URL in an OBS Browser Source. The exact events available depend on the platforms and settings supported by your account.
What an Event List widget does
An Event List is an on-screen list of recent stream activity. Depending on the provider, platform, and account settings, it can display follows, tips, subscriptions, and other interactions. Streamlabs says its Event List supports Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Kick, and Streamlabs events, and advertises more than 30 interaction types. That count is a vendor-stated feature, not an independent measure of viewer activity.

It is different from an Alert Box: an alert typically presents an individual event notification, while an Event List shows a history of recent events. OBS does not generate the third-party event data itself; a provider’s source or browser-widget URL supplies it.
Choose the setup route for your software
| Software and setup | How to add it | Useful distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Streamlabs Desktop | Add an Event List source. | Use the built-in source flow; you do not need to paste a widget URL for this route. |
| OBS Studio with the Streamlabs plugin | Open the plugin’s Widgets panel and add Event List to the scene. | Add it separately to each scene where you want it to appear. |
| OBS Studio without the plugin, or another compatible application | Copy the Event List widget URL from its settings and add it as a Browser Source. | The URL provides the third-party overlay; OBS’s general Browser Source method does not require an overlay plugin. |
Set up the Event List step by step
1. Choose the provider, platform, and events
- Sign in to the event-list provider and connect the relevant streaming account or accounts.
- Open the Event List settings and select the platform and event types you want to show. Confirm that the events you need are available for your connected account; do not assume every event type works on every platform.
- Review the provider’s event minimums and history options, if offered. These affect which activity qualifies for display and how much recent activity appears.
2. Add the widget to your streaming software
- In Streamlabs Desktop: add a new source and choose Event List.
- In OBS with the Streamlabs plugin: open Widgets, add Event List to the current scene, and repeat in any other scene that should show it.
- In OBS with a Browser Source: copy the Event List widget URL from the provider’s settings, create a Browser Source, and paste the URL into its URL field.
- In another compatible application: add a browser or web source and use the provider’s widget URL, following that application’s controls.
OBS Project’s official stream-layout guidance uses a Browser Source for third-party overlays such as alerts and event lists. If you choose that route, set the source width and height to fit your canvas and layout. There is no universally correct pixel size: the right dimensions depend on your scene and how much room the list should occupy.

- One-Touch Operation: trigger single or multiple actions, launch social posts, adjust audio, mute mic, turn on lights, and much more.

- Powerful Plugins: Elgato 4KCU, OBS, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Discord, Spotify, Philips Hue, and many more.

3. Customize what viewers see
Streamlabs’ Event List settings include controls for platform and event selection, style, theme color, event minimums, maximum event count, flipping options, history behavior, font, text color, font size, animation, animation speed, and fade time. Available controls can depend on the provider’s current interface and account setup.
- Set the maximum event count to suit the space available in your overlay.
- Choose a font size and text color that remain legible over your scene background.
- Use style, theme, and animation options to make the list fit your layout without obscuring gameplay, captions, or other essential information.
- Set fade time to zero if you want the list to remain visible rather than fade away.
4. Preview every scene where it appears
Check the finished source in the intended scene before going live. Confirm that it is visible, sized correctly, readable against the background, and not covering important content. If you use the plugin route, check each scene separately; adding the widget to one scene does not add it to the others.

Troubleshoot a missing or incorrect event list
Check the setup in this order. The appropriate fix depends on which route you used; there is no single universal remedy for every provider or application.
- The list is absent from a scene: verify that the Event List source is present in that scene and visible. With the plugin route, add it to each scene that needs it.
- A Browser Source is blank or wrong: confirm that you copied the current Event List widget URL from the provider’s settings and pasted it into the Browser Source URL field.
- The source is present but clipped or hard to read: adjust its width and height to fit the canvas, then review the font size, text color, and placement in the scene.
- The wrong activity appears, or expected events are missing: check the selected platform, connected account, event types, event minimums, and history settings in the provider’s Event List settings.
- The list disappears sooner than intended: review the fade-time setting; Streamlabs says a fade time of zero keeps the list visible.
Or let it run in the cloud
An Event List widget is for displaying activity in a streaming layout. If your separate goal is to keep a YouTube channel live with uploaded videos, StreamNeo runs that stream from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. No computer, OBS, or home connection has to stay on. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera, and its stated streaming destination is YouTube.
