You can run a YouTube stream around the clock over JioFiber if your channel is eligible, the connection at the streaming device can sustain the encoder’s upload bitrate with headroom, and your encoder can keep its source playing and recover from interruptions. A plan’s advertised speed alone does not establish that your connection will stay stable. Test the actual upload path, run a full trial, and plan a separate recording if you need a complete archive: YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours, not a single 24/7 broadcast.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is eligible for live streaming. YouTube’s current help page says the channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements.
- A streaming device and encoder that can play your video source continuously. Looping controls and recovery behavior differ by encoder; the general YouTube setup steps do not guarantee that a particular encoder can loop indefinitely.
- A JioFiber connection whose actual upload performance at the streaming device can sustain your chosen bitrate, with room for normal variation and other network use.
- A plan and service terms appropriate to the service address and intended use. Jio’s Mumbai plan page is a location-specific example, not a nationwide promise; check your address and terms directly.
Check JioFiber at the place you will stream
Run an upload-speed test from the computer or device, on the same wired or Wi-Fi path you intend to use for streaming, at a time representative of the broadcast. Download speed is not a substitute for upload capacity. A test is a snapshot, so repeat it and choose settings below the connection’s reliably sustained upload rather than its best result.

YouTube recommends leaving roughly 20% network bandwidth headroom above the stream bitrate. Other devices uploading, cloud backups, or additional streams can consume that margin. If practical, connect the encoder by Ethernet and avoid saturating the connection during the broadcast. Jio lists symmetric upload and download speeds for plans on its Mumbai broadband plans page, including examples at 30, 100, 150 and 300 Mbps; those are location-specific listings, not proof of the performance available at your address or at your device.

Check Jio’s terms for your specific service. Its home-use postpaid FAQ describes unlimited high-speed data and reserves the right to discontinue service for misuse, fraudulent, unauthorized or commercial use. If your stream is commercial or otherwise not ordinary home use, confirm the applicable terms with Jio rather than assuming a residential plan permits it.

Choose a bitrate the connection can sustain
YouTube’s H.264 guidance gives these recommended bitrate figures. They are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that your JioFiber line will sustain them. Apply the roughly 20% headroom guidance to the measured upload capacity, and reduce the stream bitrate or resolution if upload performance varies.

These figures are taken from YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance. If you want a resolution or frame rate not shown here, use YouTube’s current table rather than extrapolating a bitrate. Keep the encoder’s output resolution and frame rate consistent with the video source where possible; do not choose a higher setting simply because a plan advertises a high speed.

Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and enter Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream that uses an encoder. For a first broadcast, allow for activation time if live streaming is not yet enabled.
- In the stream’s setup details, copy the server URL and stream key shown by YouTube into the corresponding fields in your encoder. The labels and exact screens vary by encoder.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream. If it is exposed, reset or replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder with the new key.
- Use RTMPS if the encoder offers it; YouTube recommends encrypted transmission to its servers. Set the encoder’s video codec and bitrate in line with YouTube’s current settings guidance and your measured upload capacity.
- Configure the encoder’s source and loop behavior for your specific software or hardware. Verify that it actually repeats the intended content; a generic stream-key setup does not configure looping, restart behavior, or unattended operation.
- Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview and stream-health indicators before making the broadcast public or relying on it.

Test the full 24/7 arrangement
Test the actual source, encoder, network path, stream key, and YouTube preview together before depending on the stream. Watch for unstable health indicators, dropped frames, interruptions, and whether the source resumes or loops as expected after the encoder is restarted. YouTube warns, “A disruption on your connectivity could mean a broken stream.” Its streaming tips recommend testing a backup encoder by stopping the primary encoder or unplugging its Ethernet cable. Do this during a controlled test, not during an important broadcast.

A UPS sized for the router and streaming computer can help with a short power interruption, but it does not prevent an ISP outage, damaged fiber, or encoder failure. A backup connection or encoder is a separate resilience measure; do not assume the stream will recover unless you have tested the actual setup.
Plan for interruptions and recordings
For a long-running stream, decide what should happen if the encoder stops, the source ends, or the internet drops. The recovery steps depend on the encoder you choose. Monitor stream health and have a way to restart or switch over if uninterrupted availability matters. YouTube’s instructions cover failover testing but do not guarantee a 24/7 stream will stay connected.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A single 24/7 broadcast should not be treated as a guaranteed complete YouTube recording. If you need a record, enable a separate local recording in your encoder and make sure the device has adequate disk space and power; also decide whether to divide the broadcast into sessions that fit your archive needs.
