How to Set Up a Tebex Webshop on a CS2 Server

Tebex documents the store workflow, but its public catalog does not establish a native CS2 plugin. Here is how to build and test a secure, supportable delivery path before launch.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Short answer: you can create a Tebex store for a Counter-Strike 2 community, but Tebex’s public documentation does not establish a native CS2 plugin. The safe setup is to create the project and packages first, then connect a delivery method that you have verified for your own CS2 server—such as a Tebex-supported plugin if one becomes available, or a carefully secured API/RCON bridge. Test a purchase with no real money, confirm that the server-side entitlement is delivered, submit the project for Tebex review, and only then launch publicly.

What Tebex setup for CS2 actually involves

Tebex separates the commercial part of a store from the technical delivery part. The store contains categories, packages, prices and checkout. A game-server integration receives the resulting purchase command and applies the promised entitlement on the server. A complete launch therefore has two independent outcomes:

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • A buyer can select and pay for a package in the Tebex webshop.
  • Your CS2 server can reliably identify the buyer and apply the package after payment.

Tebex’s documented onboarding sequence is to create a project, configure the store or API integration, create packages, implement product delivery, make a test payment, submit the project for review and then go live. The test payment is intended as a no-real-money check before launch. Follow that sequence rather than advertising packages before delivery is proven. See Tebex’s getting-started documentation.

Is there an official Tebex plugin for Counter-Strike 2?

The public Tebex Control Panel catalog lists Counter-Strike: GO under Game Server Integrations. It does not list Counter-Strike 2. That catalog entry is not evidence that a CS:GO plugin works with CS2, and you should not install or advertise it as a CS2 integration without confirmation from Tebex and testing on your server. The catalog is available at Tebex Control Panel documentation.

#1 Best Overall
Counter-Strike: Source - PC
  • Single-elimination, team-based online shooter
  • Completely overhauled with better graphics, new characters, items, and environments
  • Package includes Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Day of Defeat: Source
  • Real-world physics adds depth the gameplay
  • Internet connection required for online play

Tebex says its official plugin method is recommended when a plugin exists. Its game-server guide explains that plugins poll for new purchase commands every minute and support offline players. The same guide describes MySQL as a more advanced method with limited offline support, while direct RCON can send commands without a plugin but cannot execute commands for offline players. Those are general Tebex integration characteristics; they do not establish that any of the methods is compatible with CS2.

Before choosing an implementation, ask Tebex directly whether it currently supports CS2 and whether your proposed bridge is eligible for support. Keep the answer with your project records. A method that technically moves a command is not automatically a Tebex-supported CS2 integration.

Prepare the server and the store plan

Write the delivery contract for every package before creating it in the control panel. The contract should say who receives the entitlement, what the entitlement does, when it is delivered, how long it lasts and what happens if delivery fails or a payment is refunded. Because the public material does not provide CS2 command syntax, do not copy commands from another game or assume that a CS:GO command is valid in CS2.

  • Player identity: decide which stable identifier your bridge will accept and how it is matched to the buyer’s Tebex account. Do not rely on a display name that players can change.
  • Entitlement: describe the server-side result in plain language, such as a role, flag or time-limited permission. Your implementation must translate that description into an action your CS2 server actually supports.
  • Duration: distinguish permanent, recurring and expiring packages. Store an expiry value in your own system when the delivery mechanism cannot enforce expiry safely.
  • Failure behavior: define retries, duplicate-purchase handling and a manual recovery path before accepting money.
  • Refunds and chargebacks: decide how a reversal removes or suspends an entitlement. Confirm which events your chosen integration exposes and document the operator action if it does not automatically revoke access.

Use a separate test category or clearly marked test packages while building. Give each package an unambiguous internal name, a customer-facing description and one delivery outcome. Bundling several unrelated server actions makes it difficult to diagnose a failed purchase.

Create the Tebex project

Use the project-creation flow in the official getting-started guide. Labels can change as Tebex updates its panel, so follow the current prompts rather than an old screenshot. The documented order is:

Rank #2
Giga Mech Games Counter Attack - A Matchday Simulation Game That Captures The Thrills of Football for 1-2 Players!
  • Counter Attack is a football (soccer) strategy game which lasts for 90 minutes. The two players ('managers') each control a team of 11 players. Every player has a unique set of skills that the managers try to best utilise during play. Managers control how the players move, pass, dribble, tackle and shoot.
  • Duels between players on the pitch - whether tackles, shots or headers - are determined by a combination of the unique player skills plus a dice roll. During movement phases, a sand timer is used to keep the pace of the game up.
  • Counter Attack features everything you'd expect in a game of football, from corners to free kicks, penalties to red cards and injuries.
  1. Create a project. Enter the project and store information requested by Tebex. Select the game-server configuration that most closely describes your deployment, but do not treat a game selection as proof of CS2 integration.
  2. Choose the store or API path. A store-only project still needs a delivery implementation if a purchase is supposed to change a server. An API integration requires a service you operate and secure.
  3. Configure the basic store. Set the store name, currency and customer-facing information required by the panel. Keep descriptions precise about what a buyer receives on your server.
  4. Create categories and packages. Add the products from your delivery contract. State restrictions such as one purchase per player, duration or eligibility in the package description.
  5. Implement product delivery. Connect the selected integration and map each package to a server-side action. Do not publish until the action has been observed on a test server.
  6. Make a test payment. Use Tebex’s test-payment process to exercise checkout and delivery without charging real money.
  7. Submit the project for review. Tebex reviews the project before it goes live. Resolve any requested changes, then publish only after the end-to-end test succeeds.

The sequence matters. Creating attractive packages before you know how CS2 will receive them leaves customers with paid orders that your server cannot fulfill.

Choose a delivery method only after confirming CS2 support

Tebex documents several game-server approaches. The following comparison uses the behavior Tebex describes; the CS2 column reflects what its public catalog does and does not establish.

Approach Documented Tebex behavior Offline-player behavior What is established for CS2
Official Tebex plugin Labeled “Tebex Plugin (Recommended)” where available; polls for new purchase commands every minute Supports offline players The public catalog does not list a Counter-Strike 2 plugin
MySQL integration Advanced method for retrieving or processing purchase data Limited offline support No CS2-specific support is established by the public catalog
Direct RCON Sends commands to the server without installing a plugin Cannot execute commands for offline players No CS2-specific command set or integration is supplied
Self-hosted RCON Adapter Queries pending package commands and executes them through RCON Its behavior depends on the bridge and server availability CS2 is not in Tebex’s officially supported-game list
Custom API bridge Uses the Game Server API for command execution and your own service for translation Depends on your identity, queue and retry design Requires independent CS2 validation and confirmation of Tebex support

Tebex’s Game Server API overview says the API is intended for command execution on game servers. It also says official plugins exist for selected games and that an RCON Adapter can be used when no plugin exists. “Can be used” is not the same as “officially supports CS2”; treat the compatibility question as unresolved until Tebex confirms it.

Investigating the RCON Adapter

The RCON Adapter documentation describes a self-hosted application. It queries pending package commands from Tebex and executes them through RCON. Tebex says it can run on an always-online virtual machine, dedicated server or game-server host.

Tebex’s officially supported list for the adapter names Conan Exiles, Minecraft Java, Minecraft Bedrock, Minecraft Offline/Geyser, Rust, ARK: Survival Evolved and 7 Days To Die. CS2 is not listed. You may investigate whether a custom CS2 bridge can use the same general pattern, but do not present that arrangement as an officially supported CS2 adapter. Obtain written confirmation before relying on it for a public store.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you experiment with an adapter, isolate it from the game process and monitor it as a separate service. It should be able to reconnect after a server restart, retain a queue while the server is unavailable, avoid applying the same purchase twice and expose enough logs to identify a failed player or package. Those are operational requirements for your implementation, not features you should assume Tebex supplies for CS2.

Designing a custom CS2 bridge

A custom bridge is the most flexible option when no native plugin is available, but it is also the largest engineering and support commitment. Use this architecture as a checklist, not as a promise that a particular CS2 command exists:

  1. Receive pending work. Use the Tebex Game Server API or an approved delivery mechanism to obtain the package command associated with a paid order.
  2. Validate the order. Check the package identifier, player identity, project identifier and delivery state before touching the game server. Reject malformed or unexpected data.
  3. Resolve the player. Convert the stable identity from the order into the identifier your CS2 server accepts. Record failures separately instead of repeatedly guessing a name.
  4. Translate the entitlement. Map the package to a known server-side action that you have verified on a test CS2 instance. Keep this mapping in configuration or code under version control, with an operator-readable name.
  5. Execute through your chosen channel. Use the server interface you have tested, such as an RCON connection or a server-side extension. Do not expose that interface directly to the public internet.
  6. Record an idempotency result. Mark a purchase as delivered only after the server confirms success. A retry must not grant a permanent entitlement twice.
  7. Retry safely. Use bounded retries with increasing delays, then place exhausted items in a visible manual-review queue. Keep the original order and error details.
  8. Handle reversals. Process refund or chargeback information according to your store policy, and ensure an operator can revoke an entitlement when automatic removal is impossible.

Build this bridge against a private test server first. Test a player who is online, a player who is offline, a reconnect during delivery, a server restart, a duplicate notification, an invalid identity, a revoked payment and a temporary network outage. If your chosen channel cannot deliver to offline players, say so clearly in the package terms and provide a recovery process.

Protect the Tebex secret key

Tebex authenticates game-server API requests with a game-server secret key from the creator panel. The key must be sent in the X-Tebex-Secret header, and Tebex requires HTTPS for API requests. See Tebex authentication documentation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Store the key in a server-side secret manager or protected environment variable, never in browser JavaScript, a public repository, a forum post or a tutorial.
  • Send it only over HTTPS and restrict which service can read it.
  • Do not log request headers or full order payloads if they contain credentials or personal data.
  • Rotate the key if it appears in a log, screenshot or code sample. A real key should never appear in documentation.
  • Limit the bridge host’s network access to the Tebex endpoints and the game-server interface it actually needs.

When documenting your own setup, show a placeholder such as YOUR_TEBEX_SECRET rather than a usable value. A secret protects the project; it is not a player-facing configuration setting.

Run the no-money test payment

Tebex explicitly instructs creators to “Make a test payment.” Use that step to verify the entire path, not merely that checkout opens.

  1. Create a test player account and record the exact identity that your bridge will receive.
  2. Choose one low-risk test package whose result is easy to observe and reverse.
  3. Complete the Tebex test-payment flow and note the order or transaction identifier shown by the panel.
  4. Watch the bridge or integration log for the pending command, validation result, execution attempt and final delivery status.
  5. Check the CS2 server directly. Confirm that the intended entitlement was applied to the intended player, not just that a command was sent.
  6. Repeat with the player offline if your method claims to support offline delivery. If it does not, verify that the order remains visible for a safe manual retry.
  7. Restart the bridge and the game server, then confirm that an undelivered item is not lost or granted twice.
  8. Document the evidence and any limitations before submitting the project for review.

Do not use a real payment to discover that your CS2 command mapping is wrong. A successful checkout without a verified in-game result is not a successful integration.

Submit for review and launch carefully

After the test payment and delivery checks pass, submit the project for Tebex review as described in the onboarding guide. Make the reviewer-facing information match the actual behavior of your server:

  • Describe precisely what each package grants and whether it is permanent or time-limited.
  • State any online-only delivery requirement and the recovery procedure for an offline buyer.
  • Publish refund, chargeback and support instructions that your team can actually follow.
  • Remove test packages, test credentials and diagnostic endpoints from the public store.
  • Keep the bridge running on its intended always-online host before opening the store to customers.

Go live only after Tebex has approved the project and your final production test has passed. The first real order should be monitored by an administrator who can inspect logs, verify the entitlement in CS2 and reverse the change if necessary.

Troubleshoot by locating the first failed handoff

The payment succeeds but no delivery appears

Check whether the project produced a pending package command. If no command exists, review the package’s delivery configuration and project integration. If a command exists, inspect the bridge’s authentication, polling or webhook-equivalent process, then check whether the item is waiting in a retry or manual queue.

The bridge sees the order but the player receives nothing

Verify the player-identity mapping and the package-to-entitlement mapping independently. A valid Tebex order does not prove that the CS2 server accepted the translated action. Test the same server-side action manually on a private server and capture the server’s response.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The same purchase is granted twice

Find out whether the delivery record is marked successful only after confirmation. Add an idempotency record keyed to the Tebex order and package, and make retries consult that record before executing again.

Offline purchases never arrive

Direct RCON cannot execute commands for offline players, while Tebex describes plugin delivery as supporting offline players and MySQL as having limited offline support. If your CS2 bridge uses RCON, retain the pending order and apply it when the player can be resolved, or disclose that limitation instead of claiming offline delivery.

Requests fail authentication

Confirm that the current game-server secret is being sent in the exact X-Tebex-Secret header over HTTPS. Check for an expired or rotated key, accidental whitespace and a proxy that strips custom headers. Never solve the problem by printing the key into public logs.

The server is unreachable

For an RCON-based design, verify that the adapter host is always online, the RCON endpoint is restricted by firewall rules and the game server is listening on the expected private interface. Let the queue retry after a restart instead of discarding paid work.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What to ask Tebex before committing to CS2

The public documentation leaves CS2 compatibility unresolved, so obtain answers to these questions before launch:

  • Is there a currently supported Counter-Strike 2 plugin or integration that is not shown in the public catalog?
  • Will Tebex support a custom Game Server API or RCON bridge for a CS2 project?
  • Which delivery events and reversal events are available for your chosen integration?
  • How should offline-player orders, retries and duplicate deliveries be represented?
  • Does the proposed configuration satisfy Tebex’s review and acceptable-use requirements?

Save the response with the project’s operational documentation. If Tebex cannot confirm support, launch only after deciding that you can operate and support the bridge independently, and describe its limitations honestly to buyers.
