To set up a merch store for your YouTube channel, first check that your channel is eligible for YouTube Shopping, choose a supported store platform available in your region, and connect it in YouTube Studio under Earn > Shopping. YouTube reviews products before they can appear; the store platform, not YouTube, handles orders and pays you.
1. Check whether your channel is eligible
On a computer, open YouTube Studio and select Earn > Shopping. If Shopping is available, follow the prompts to get started. If it is missing, check your channel’s current status and YouTube’s eligibility requirements before choosing a store provider.

YouTube’s requirements for promoting your own products include being in the YouTube Partner Program, meeting the subscriber threshold for YPP or having an Official Artist Channel, and meeting its channel-content and strike conditions. A subscriber count by itself does not guarantee access: requirements can change, and the other conditions still apply. See YouTube’s current Shopping eligibility guidance.

YouTube lists these compatible platforms: BASE, Cafe24, Fourthwall, Marpple Shop, Shopify, SHOPLINE, Spreadshop, Spring (formerly Teespring), Suzuri, TeePublic, and Wix. Availability varies by country, and some providers are restricted to specified regions. Check YouTube’s current provider list and connection guidance before you commit.
#1 Best Overall
- YouTube Content Creation design. Subscribe - Content Creator - Play Button Video
- 16” x 16” bag with two 14” long and 1” wide black cotton webbing strap handles.
- Made of a lightweight, spun polyester canvas-like fabric.
- All seams and stress points are double-stitched for durability, and the reinforced bottom flattens to fit more items and hold larger objects.
- Spot clean/dry clean only.
The list confirms compatibility, not that one provider is best. Compare the options that serve your region on:
- Where the store can sell and where it ships.
- Store setup, branding, and customization.
- Available products and how production and fulfillment work.
- Setup costs, ongoing fees, payout terms, and sales reporting.
- Who handles customer service, refunds, and returns.
YouTube marks Shopify, Spreadshop, and Spring as providers for which sales and order data can be viewed in YouTube Analytics. That does not establish comparative fees or service quality; check each provider’s current terms directly.

3. Create the store and connect it to YouTube
- Set up the store with your chosen provider. Configure the products and store details there first. YouTube’s connection does not create or operate the underlying store for you.
- Open YouTube Studio on a computer. Select Earn > Shopping, then choose Get started or Connect new store, as shown for your account.
- Follow the provider’s connection steps. For Shopify, use the Google & YouTube app, sign in with an account that has admin access to the channel, select the intended YouTube channel, agree to the program rules, and complete the setup.
- Wait for product review. YouTube says review typically takes a few business days. Connection is not approval: products must meet YouTube’s requirements before they can be shown. If an item is disapproved, the retailer or store administrator can appeal through Google Merchant Center.
4. Arrange products and make them visible
After products are approved, use the Shopping tab to arrange or tag them where those options are available. YouTube supports product display in places such as your channel store, descriptions, product shelves, and eligible videos, Shorts, and live streams. Which surfaces are available depends on the channel, content, and viewer context; connecting a store does not make every product visible everywhere.

You can also link your store in relevant video descriptions, comments, posts, or other channel materials. Keep the link and product details current, and check that each item is approved before directing viewers to it from YouTube Shopping features.

- This shirt is guaranteed to show that you are a TRUE Pfan! Where it with pride, and show your friends!

5. Understand who handles sales and reporting
Your merch retailer or platform is responsible for merchandising, warehousing, fulfillment, refunds, customer service, inventory, and paying the creator. YouTube and AdSense do not pay you for merch orders. As YouTube puts it: “As a reminder, all payments for the sale of merch and products are paid through your merch retailer or platform. YouTube and AdSense are not involved.” Read the provider’s terms to understand its specific sales and payout arrangements.
Where supported, YouTube Analytics can report sales and orders, but its totals may not match the provider’s. Attribution, privacy settings, returns, app sales, ad blockers, and activity across devices can affect reporting. Use the store provider’s own reporting to manage the underlying orders and compare results.
Own merch is different from affiliate product tagging
Connecting your own store is separate from YouTube’s Shopping affiliate program, which lets eligible creators tag products from other brands. The affiliate program has its own eligibility rules and geographic availability; see YouTube’s affiliate program overview rather than assuming that eligibility for one feature grants access to the other.

Or let it run in the cloud
If your channel also needs a prerecorded YouTube stream to run continuously, StreamNeo is a separate service from merch-store setup: upload a video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos in the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price regardless of quality; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
